Newport 3rd ring issue

Hello,
I'm posting this here because none of GMs seems to be online when I am.

I've done the first 2 quests and now I'm doing the second upgrade of that Newport ring.
I've got the rations and that cache, all I need to do is to hand in the letter to alchemist Banner in Halas.
I'm a high elf magician and my faction with Halas is dubious, even though I've done that 3 quests in Everfrost that I got from that frost warrior Mc(Something). I've heard that alchemist has another faction.

I've given him this letter 5 times and he always just ate it, not responding to my hails.
But after my 3rd attempt he attacked me while hailing him! Even though he cons green to me.
My pet killed him. I've tried it one more time and he attacked me again. But this time I managed to zone before he got killed.

What can I do now?
He obviously hates me :(

As long as we're here, I've heard that Ring V is still busted. Anyone know exactly how it's broken, if it still is?
 
My faction with Halas shamans is terrible. How can I improve it?
Alchemist ate my letter for the 6th time now. :mad:
 
I've tried to be invisible and he talks to me. But I can't hand him the letter while being invis.
 
The same thing happened to me. My faction with Alchemist is dubiously (I'm a froglok shaman).
The first time he gave me the crate and I collected those herbs in Mielech B. But I forgot to give the crate back to him and headed off to Newport, where I handed them to Captain Thalas.
He ate everything and I started again.
But this time Alchemist Banner just ate my letter!
 
Tinkaa, you could get a enchanter to illusion you as a Barbarian and see if that helps. My high elf chanter had no problem though.
 
I've just tried it. Now he's threatening to me. Ate my letter one more time ;(

(another suggestion - if he keeps doing that, then we'll need another smiley, who is eating!)
 
Ambassador's writ does the same - threateningly.

(it's actually quite funny to answer myself in this topic every half an hour :D )

Same issue on my SK, 'cept he's KOS and dark blue :( Dubious with the rest of halas

Don't wanna bother a GM unless I have to.
 
I'm going to be changing his faction next patch to fix this issue. He'll be indifferent to everyone, sorry about any problems you guys are having with him right now. All I can say until the patch is wait until then if you have faction problems with him.
 
Any word on ring V? I've just heard that it's broken, if it's working fine lemme know so I can go try it :)
