Newbie Quests

Dalayan Beginner
i would like to finish the rangers surfefall glade quests but part 3 is not finished as it seems. finish or fix the quest so i can finish getting all the armor hopefully a full set. (full set in this case is 7 main pieces, 8 if u count 2 bracers)

my cleric cannot do the cleric armor quests in erudin, i think cuase she is a human and im not sure if its even a full set of armor eather. i think all clerics should be able to do the quests and get a full set of armor out of it.

Bards dont have any armor quests in the main areas only the vah ones which are not easy to do and require level 30+ to finish.

my necromancer and warrior both iksar dont get a full set of armor only pieces of armor. i think you should add more to the necromancers quest to get a full set of armor. as for warrior u need one for lite side of SoD id suggest in newport.

i dont have a druid but there dose not seem to be any signs of a set of newbie armor quests for them. Add some to surefall glade or kelethin.

Paladin have a set in oggok but that is kinda the dark side of SoD which pallys dont really start in. how about adding some newbie armors for them in athica.

Shamans, i am not sure if there is any in halas or not. if there is ok then. if not add some.

basically what i would like to see is that every class can acquire a newbie armor set before level 20.

the ones in the vah can serve as armor for some that dont have any however the mobs on the 3rd level of runnyeye are hard to do until level 30+, which is too high to have to level to get starting armor.

as for the wyvernfang set the parts drop form level 30+ mobs and u have to go to a area that is not easy to get to which means that is not newbie armor at all.

if u cant add full sets i understand just at least fix the ones u already have please.

thank u.

I would love to take a look at atleast some of those issues, if just the information provided was a bit less vague. So feel free to PM me additional information, including but not limited to:
  • Quest name, if known.
  • Name of the NPC that starts it.
  • How it is broken/where it does not continue.
  • Any items involved in the quest so far, be it rewards or things you turn in.

Going a bit into details with parts of your post now:

Questgiver? Questname? Pieces available? What is not finished?

Again, Name of Questgiver and/or quest would help a lot.

What do you even consider the "main areas"? And aren't there quests for type6 augs in Newport?

Same information as above: Questgiver, Questname, items involved/available and so on...

Me neither, might be a good point to start.

umm ok

Ranger
Surefall glade, Ranger General Shedari
Part 1 gives u Banded Surefall Boots after killing a lessor specter and turning in the sythe it drops
part 2 gives u Banded Surefall Leggings after u turn in 4 gnoll balms
after part 2 she gives u blue leather gloves and says to go into the west badlands and give the trackers that are stationed there the bandages, however she dose not give u any bandages and there are no tracker npcs in west badlands.

Cleric
Erudin, Priest Jezen
he gives a quest to get a Mace of Divine Light wich requires u to give him 4 bone chips, after that he gives quest dialoge to continue however when u /cm d1 to get the next quest u get nothing and if u hail him the quest seems to be no longer avalable. on the forums iv read that u need to have higher faction to do them wich the only once who have the faction are erudite clerics i think all clerics should be able to do those quests and those quests i dont have any info on cuase i cant do them however they should give u a full set of armor.

Bard
yes there are quests for augs but augments are not armor. bards need armor more then some augs. as for main areas i mean newport, athica, kelethin, oggok, and grobb areas. the areas were most people start. As for the augs though clerics get Shroud of the Initiate to Shroud of the Deep Priest. Rogues get Thug's hood to Hand's hood. necromancers get Amulet of the Cult Initiate to Amulet of the Cult Voice. these are just some of the extra special items some other classes get the augs would fall under this category not armor.

Necromancer
In grobb there are A'han Stoneheart 2 quests first quest involves collecting skeleton drops in greenmist jungle and combining them in a box to turn in and u get Assembly Apprentice's Ring/NEC. 2nd quest gives u a Apprentice Sewing Kit and Seal of the Assembly wich u must collect other items and combine in the ket to make some Assembly Apprentice's Pants. also in grobb Sytha Coldwind has 4 quests quest 1 of hers u get 4 tadpole skulls from stingers bog and give them to her and u get Initiate's Skull Helmet. quest 2 u gather leech hide, alligator scales x2, and a snake fang and give to her for Robes of the Apprentice. quest 3 u gather 2 clawed hands, leech sucker, and froglock apprentice staff and give to her for Bladed Acolyte Staff and Binder of the Shadow Scale. Quest 4 she tasks u to go into Halls of Mielech and get 4 Dark Runes that drop there and combine in the Binder of the Shadow Scale to make Tome of the Shadow Scale.
now my problim is thats 1 helm, 1 leggings, 1 robe. u dont get any sleeves, boots, bracers, or gloves.

Warrior
Technically warrior can do the traning with Bonmig quests in oggok for a full set of armor however the Rusty Barnacle Covered Armor quests in grobb only give u a bracer, greaves, boots, and a breastplate i was hopeing you could make it so u got gloves, sleeves, and helm as well from this quest. starts with Kathik of the Blades in grobb. warriors are not hurting for armor though so u can add these to the quest at a later date.

I'll look into some of these (after double xp weekend!), but no promises. also wich part of PMme those infos did you not understand?

For necros, there is several pieces of armour you can get out of newport sewers. The Healer down there Vanissa or something will give you a belt? maybe. idr. some pp rewards, exp and a bag. The guild master has a long set of quests that you can do which you can get many items through him and side quests along the way. i believe it starts at lvl 1 and finishes around 35? (including a pretty cool 2hs scythe). end result is a bunch of gear and NEWPORt SEWERS GATE NECK!!!!.

The Main quest all in itsself gives you a really awsome aug. once you get to the Erimal part of the quest you have all sorts of side quests for gear for all classes. not to mention the zones it takes you to have nameds which drop loot.

aye

yes i know about the cult gate necklace for necs and the MQ aug, however the whole point of this post is to get every class/race combination a starting set of armor via quest. (not the wyvernfang quests ether, that is too far to go and parts drop from lvl 30+ mobs).

was not aware of the Antique Plate quests ill look into them however a quest for all 5 of those classes is just wrong pal and cleric yea but warrior n bard thats just not fair to them having unused stats on there armor. there should really be different armor quests for all those different classes.

TY for getting the cleric in erudin to respond finally. however from what i gather the druid and ranger ones in surefall glade are broken rangers at part 3 and the druids i have no ideal were just i heard someone in Guild talking about it maybe i should have asked how it was broken and what not.

i would like to add that you could altogather create a new player experience with a new zone that all new players start in. here there will be quests for the new players to get armor. Make a boss for the zone that drops wepons for all the different classes. have a npc that will let them gather components to tradeskill a cloak or a belt and some jewelry (necklace, ring, or earring). have a cupple quests to get them use to bountys. also since its for new players u should do something to prevent higher level players from meddling maybe make the mobs unattackable to players higher then level 30 since mobs will be level 20 and lower.

Gimme a break, I can only do so much in so little time! :(

That is the nature of armor through the game, having "wasted" stats. It will happen when multiple classes use armor. Only a couple armors are single class, starfall, thurg, and thaz being the ones that stand out the most.

As for the single starting zone, I am heavily opposed to this hack of the game. I see no real reason for it, except making only one set of quests that way. It ruins much of the flavor and style of the game though. Though i do like the idea of a bounty system for lower level toons

so little time, ehh k guess ill try to add less to your workload from now on. as for the wasted stats, its in cohesive to have one of them for multiple classes while the rest of them are one class only. yes i don't like the mash up of a single starting zone ether however replacing the newbie armors with brand new ones and making armors for all class/race might be impossible for the SoD dev team. however having one for every class would be great. which is why i suggested it cause not every class starts in the same zone because of there race. that means you would need more then one armor for those classes/races.
