Hello all and finally after a bit of a power struggle with my pc got WR qorking and it all looks great (the 2 zones I have been in anyway).

Few questions :-

1) Are there any downloadable maps ala EQ??

2) Do you have to use EQW to 2 box on one account?

2a) Is it better to run 2 instances to 2 box? So run from 2 different directories instead of both from 1.

3) When are the majority playing - what is prime time?

You dont Haveto use EQWindows to two box. When i 2box i run from the same directory without any problems, it might make it more stable to run two directorys though.

On weekdays the server is most populated durring the Afternoon/Evening. On the weekends server it populated around the clock, atleast 100 people online at one durring the weekend.

Press the backspace key on your keyboard, and it will bring up a map. However, to get a map with the right zone names on them, you need to download the map pack from www.wintersroar.com/download. Not sure if that's the exact link, but it's just under Downloads. These maps are helpful, and will save your life more than once! (P.S. The zones themselves haven't changed, just what's inside them. So if you remember your way around, this will hold true for WR).

2) Do you have to use EQW to 2 box on one account?
Two boxing is easy. What I do is make both my windows 1024 x 768. Then tile them. One in the left upper corner, one in the right lower corner. Just alt tab between the two. To play in a window while in game, simply hit alt + enter. Short answer, no.

Erm... no. One directory is fine. Just make two accounts, or else you may have troubles getting disconnected while zoning both people at once.

3) When are the majority playing - what is prime time?
You'll notice that your average playing time IS the majority playing time, unless you're from somewhere other than North America. I know for me, around 3 - 10 pm EST is about peak.
 
I notice that game is rather packed with people even at 2am (CST). Last night there were 87 people on... Which surprised me. Must be a lot of people abroad playing...
 
Thanks for the replies guys - was struggling without my map fix.

I know its sad.

So I just make another account to 2 box from one instance cool. Or I copy over the whole shabang to my other pc and do it that way.

Now all I got to work out is the quests and where the hell I ended up last night. :?

Also I called my character Twelve - was told that this is not ok???
Would like to keep it but not really bothered just give me the option to change it to what I want please.

- You make two accounts, then you're done. From there, you load up one instance of WR. Once it's loaded up, click the patcher again, and load up a second instance. You do NOT need to copy over any folders / files / peanut butter.

Would like to keep it but not really bothered just give me the option to change it to what I want please.

- GMs are very willing to let you think up a new name. It's best to think of one before they come knocking, or better yet, choose a name that doesn't violate the pollicy from the get go.
 
Well reading the naming policy i dont see why my name should not be ok but i am sure someone can pull up some obscure reference to someone called "twelve" or "12" in a sci flick.

So will be 2 boxing tonight if I get time and download the maps so they can find each other.
 
Rambler isn't acceptible either.

There's a dude named Rabb Himself in there... I don't see how it's ok either, but I suppose maybe the GMs have never heard of Raab Himself. It's the same as naming yourself Drizzt.

I didn't really realize he was from Jackass. We only really crack down on characters from mainstream fiction, so if you have a character from some backwater novel series it doesn't really matter.

Will nerf Rabb's surname though. Rabb by itself isn't so bad.
 
Well tried to 2 box from one install last night and was painful to say the least. It might not have been wise to have my trader up in EQ at the same time :lol:

Got my druid to level 3 though <3
