Hey folks, Nominal here. I've played here before, but only for about a week or so. My total 'game' experience was two months back when Shadows of Luclin first showed up. I was wondering: What's the best class/race combo for someone who A: Is new to the game, B: Likes to solo, and C: Doesn't have a lot of time to dedicate to grabbing the best gear.

All in all, I much prefer questing to straight up grinding of mobs. Any suggestions?

I'm sure everyone will say that it's all about personal preference.

buuut, since you said you're not interested in getting the best gear, I'd lean towards a caster class, like a mage, becuase you get your very own built in tank that you can buff, and heal, and you get to sit back and nuke the mobs.

I'm sure you'll get lots of other great reasons to play other classes, so I'd say, just figure out which one fits you best!

I've noticed that in any type of video game scenario, I always lean towards the 'shadowknight like' class, or role (a lil of everything, and great as a support class. As I think of it, I do that in real life too, as I'm a musician, but not a frontman, I like to support a good frontman, and can offer a lil of everything hehe, life imitates art?

*edit*
Oh, and you asked for class too... I'd say Gnome for the mage, for racial stats (that I can't recall off the top of my head)

The best solo class is probably Necromancer. Best races for necromancer are probably Gnome, Erudite, Iksar (in that order), but any race will do well.

I'm not sure this game is going to have the type of content that you want. Grouping to kill creatures and raiding are the primary forms of play. Quests are a supplement to XP groups and raiding not an alternative form of play. Maybe you should check out World of Warcraft.

Not really that big a fan of WoW. The monthly cost also puts a damper on that whole route.

I noticed that the Vah are back in the game. I've been looking at a Vah Shaman, because I've always loved buffing/debuffing. Group stuff is great, but I'm not sure how easy it'll be to find a group, hence my wanting to stick to mostly solo. If grouping is fairly easy, then I'd certainly do it.
