I'm not sure if it was just me, or if others have experienced this, but I've just recently started playing SoD, and found that any time I manipulated the stacks of newbie food or newbie water that I was given, it caused me to disconnect. I could pick up a stack of them, but then when I dropped it into a different slot, it would appear to be both in the slot and still on the cursor. If I clicked anywhere with that "phantom" stack on my cursor, I would get disconnected to Character Select.

The "food duping bug" is a well known bug. What you are experiencing is intended, and from what I understand the duping aspect is usually caused by lag.

If you click on the "destroy" button with that phantom stack of food you can get rd of it without crashing.

To prevent that from happening, after you pick up a stack of food or water, wait a few seconds (until after you hear a second sound--an 'item consumed from stack' sound), then place that stack in the destination slot.
