Newbie Content / Quest Information

The server could really use a lot more newbie gear and quests, both in the form of items dropped from npcs and items sold by merchants. I'm not sure if there's a lot of stuff that I'm just not aware of since I'm new to the server, but my dark elf necromancer is level 9 and still using almost all the same equipment he started with on character creation. Also it would help if some of the quests were a little more detailed on their instructions when involving customized content new players may not be familiar with, such as the druid quest that involves travelling to "Mistwood".

Yeah, when you just start this game from scratch you do need to build up a knowledge of quests and drops. Sure, eqlive has more, but that isn't a volunteer project. If you focus on leveling up and saving money better gear will come along.

cry this to all the people that wore newbie stuff into thier 30s, 40s, and 50s. This Isnt Live, and you arent gonna start out twinked to high heaven. You are only level 9, and you said it best...there is alot of stuff you arent aware of because you are new to the server.

Playing a caster character early on can help ease the burden of earning money because spells are cheaper compared to equipment plus you can use money earned at higher levels to fund your melee. I had trouble getting past level 25ish with mostly plate mail as a newbie as an SK or paladin. Once you reach 32+, money can start flowing in from Paw or ghouls in EBadlands. There's also places like the Warrens near Erudin wear you can farm items off gnolls for below level 29 and still get experience.

Agreed, in some cases. Once we're done fleshing out the low level quests I'll be giving the older quests a once-over, to see if there are any ways to improve them so they aren't so confusing. The last thing we want is for someone to become frustrated with quests at that level and give up on doing them.
