Hello all,

I have played EQ for many years but have grown disenchanted with the current direction it is taking. This server looks very interesting and I am planning on setting up 2 accounts tonight and taking a look around.

Couple of questions ...

Does a easy portal system exists a la Plane of Knowledge? While such a system can be bad for a game it does make getting two 1st level characters together a lot easier.

Can I start different race newbies in the same starting location? EQ forced races to start in their home towns. Does Winter's Roar have the same feature or a more open starting location system?

I thought a SK/Shaman combo would be best but are there any classes that are in particular short supply? For instance, if an EQ sever had 100 people on it Clerics would be needed. Since Winter's Roar could be very different from EQ at the higher level Clerics might not be a requirement like PoP era EQ.

Is there a recommended starting zone? Given a lower player population is there a zone that I might want to try to hunt in that gives me a greater chance of meeting players my level?

Apologizes if these have been addressed in the FAQ and I missed them.

Thanks

Welcome,

First of all you do not need two account here. You can have any number of characters on one account logged in at once.

There is not a Plain of Knowledge transportation system like EQLive. But there are Translocaton NPCs that can teleport you to 4 major cities and also a horse/coach stsyem that will take you to 3 different zones and back.

The only Shadow Knight and Shaman combo that starts in the same city would be. Ogre/Ogre, Troll/Troll, Iksar/Iksar, Troll/Iksar, Iksar/Troll. Other then that you will haveto do some traveling to meet your 2 characters up.

Shaman/SK combo sounds like a good combo to me, though that seems to be what everyone is making. Melee/Shaman. :p I personaly like Melee/Druid because Druid ports are very handy here as sometimes it can be hard to get from point A to point B without a teleporter. Oh and boats are still used here on WR too.

Again welcome! Im sure you will love it here. :D
Hope that answered your questions.

No that is not correct. You can only play a maximum of TWO characters at once. Any more and you risk being banned from what I hear.

Forget what i said before...

Right, basically the rules state that you may only Dual Client. Anything over 2 chars will risk a banning of one the chars. Policy set in stone a long time ago when an entire guild existed and it was nothing but 4 guys playing 4 chars :p
