New WR Ranger site...

Hey all,

Just wanted to let those interested know that there is now a site for the WR Ranger (WWW.RANGERSHAVEN.BRAVEHOST.COM). As of now the site looks like complete arse but there isn't much I can do while at work. It does however have new forums which I built and customized.

The site itself will basically act as a portal to the forums. I will add some detailed spell information, quest lists, etc.

If ANYONE has ideas, suggestions, etc please feel free to let me know. There will be a time in the coming month where I will not be able to update it due to the military moving me.....once again. If you would like to help with the site or moderate the forums just shoot me an email at [email protected] or reply to this post.

Also, we could use a banner for the site and forums if their any creative genuises out there.

Haha, I don't think we have enough players yet to warrant a whole site dedicated to one class. It seems there's enough trouble keeping general fansites up and updated.

If you do make a quality site though, awesome. We'd appreciate that and I swear I'll get a link section up here soon...
 
I hear ya Melwin, but the word of mouth thing seems to be working. I still play my live account and people were talking about WR in the bazaar just last night. I figured I would just get a bit ahead and create a place for the us Rangers to discuss...ahh whatever I suppose. I had the only EQ2 Shaman site out but ended up passing it on to a friend when I got burnt out on the game (which took about 3 months).

The main site is basically just a portal to the forums as of right now, eventually I will create a better looking one.

That's cool as heck. You should work with some of the high end rangers like Gonret, Aenluen and Aeran and see what you get. Not to mention the Item DB guys, obviously
 
Well I went ahead and retooled the main page a bit and found a photo that will be the basis for the banner. We already have 4 people registered, all chomping at the bit for information.

I just want to relay the fact that it does not matter what level you are, your input is needed. Whether you know of a good hunting spot, quest, spell combo, etc, we welcome all information.

If I create hunting zones would you like to start adding some content. You can even just begin with where you are now and go from there?

I could try. But I have leveled so slowly, that I don't actually remember everywhere I have been, or at what levels I was there. =/
 
Tarpy, I'd be more than happy to help with whatever you need on your new site, it seems like a great idea for us rangers to have a place to talk about skills, AA's, gear, archery mods/items, weapons and all that. I do weird stuff like make word documents with all of our spells (level/name/mana/cast/effect/etc), AA's (mostly), Styles, Fletching (up to 185), and high end gear info, so if you would like those feel free to PM me or talk to me on IRC or whatever. I'm home for the summer and on unreliable internet (trying to get cable soon) so I havent (and wont for a while) been on lately, so I dont know much about the newer changes since a week ago, so yeah.

I'll help with what I can Tarpy. I've only just started EQ. We'll see:p
 
I'm not as gungho as Aeran about writing everything down, but feel free to PM me ingame. If I'm on I'll be Aenluen, Noket, or Tozek.
 
The main thing I need at the moment is information. Anything you can gather basically. I posted fighting styles, a list of bows, and a few other odds and ends. Here is a list of the information that we could really use.

1. Spell list with known drop places of higher level spells
2. Up to date bow list
3. List of AA and the recommended progression
4. Known vendor locations for fletching supplies
5. A well put together fletching guide
6. Hunting guides for all levels
7. Quest guides
8. Anything you feel is waranted a post. The people who donate info to the site can become moderators that way you can sticky, move threads, etc.
9. Make a section where we can make fun of beastlords...jk :hug:

Those are just a few I can think of off the top of my head. Those are not in any particular order, just stuff that's flying around my head. And thank you in advance for the help.

Site looks cool, but you ought to get some decent free hosting somewhere that doesn't cap you with such low bandwidth and block your site up with dumb ads (Or atleast, not so invasive ones.) Aside from that, it looks good. Keep up the work and don't let this site die like all the other WR fan sites :p
 
1. I have a spell list of all the ranger spells (some of the lower level stuff may have slightly wrong info as I used both WR and EQLive stuff), including the effects of procs (not on WR Spell Database) and the such. Its in a word doc (table) so I'll work with you in getting it website usable.
2. I'll send you an email or PM with all of the high end bows (that have dropped) as well as stats and drop mobs/zones.
3. I have most of the important AA's (about 2/3 or more of total) and my recommended progression, will complete when I am able to log back in (bad internet atm). Also in word doc so we'll see.
4. Only know of Newport (night/day) and Thurgadin atm, will check when I am able to log in for more places and exact locs.
5. Have a fletching guide up to 185. Will include in the email/PM.
6. There are probably better zones now compared to what I used to level up, but I'll talk to you about how it compares.
7. Ytraz, all I really know about if you want.
8. I have a nice (complete?) list of the +archery mod items (bracelet of accuracy, aurulent bracer of protecton) with stats and drop mob/zones you may want.
9. Kasreyn sucks <3
