New Vendor System

Greetings - I set up a new vendor in newport, I think Im the first person to buy a vendor, and I had a few questions about some of the things she does and how it works.

First off to get it out of the way there is a minor bug that doesnt allow the person browsing the stock to buy some or all of the items, including the owner. Not sure what caused it, when i first set it up the first thing i sold to the vendor was a bracer for 1cp and I realized doh someone could come along and buy that so I tried to buy it back but I couldnt. I started adding a bunch of items but I couldnt buy anything back. Then Volkov came along and he bought the bracer off of it for me and gave it back to me so i could fix the price. I set the price correctly this time and sold it back, but I still could not buy anything - Then when Volkov and I were browsing the vendor at the same time and we were both selecting that same bracer all of a sudden i could buy. He bought it again to resell it to me and from then on I could get my items back. Not sure where in that mess of stuff the bug occured, or if a simple logging would fix it or not.

Anyways, I wanted to ask for some clarification on some things - First off this was a 10 week purchase - is that 10 weeks in game time or RL time? I know the thing counts down by the days so by tomorrow ill probably know but just curious for other people also that might want to buy this.

2nd would there be a way to make it so you can check the price of something you are selling to make sure you put the correct price on it without logging an alt to check your stock? Would be easy to misplace a 0 and theres no way to tell that I can see.

3rd What happens when my time on her runs out if I havnt taken my money or items off of her yet? Does she hold them for me but wont sell them until i come claim them? Or do they get auto put into my bank account or inventory? If she does just hold onto them until I claim them does that mean I have to buy another week just to claim the items because you cant browse the stock yourself unless she is open for business.

4th What is the situation with lore items? Is the vendor viewed as an extension to my bank account so if I try to loot a lore item I am selling on her will I be able to? If I can have a lore item on her for sale and in my inventory, can I add multiple lore items to her stock?

5th What is the situation with No Rent items - If i have a mage summon me a ton of peridots will she hold them for me indefinitely so I never have to worry about them dissapearing or is that an exploit?

6th I noticed that if you are just talking in /say and you accidentally have her targeted and say a command like price or open, it will initiate that command wether the word is buried in a sentence or not - not a big deal or anything, just dont talk while you have your vendor targeted - But I was wondering if you say for example "/say Its bad that I have to sell it for that price" she will then say "the next item you put up for sale will cost bad copper" or something to that effect - What would happen if you hand her an item under those conditions? And could the item be taken out of the stock or would it be bugged?

Sorry for the mess of questions, I just see all of these things arising in the future and would like to know ahead of time what will happen. Dont take it as criticism for the system cause I LOVE It its a great way to not only carry more stock than my bank could hold but also a great way to sell things when I cant sell things like while exping or raiding or offline. Excellent idea and implementation, ty very much.

And hey anyone wanting to buy some wyvernhide or wyrmhide armor check it out!! In SouthNewport across from the bank =)

Hey, I cant answer any question except that the 10 weeks is in RL, wiz said that in ooc. Also, Thanks for actually opening a vendor, cuz i used her  good job!

1) RL time
2) On the soon-to-come list
3) You lose
4) You obviously can't stack up lore items on her, but she can have one! Further more she will be able to have one at the same time you have one.
5) Are you even able to give her no rent items?
6) I have no idea, I can test it out for you. My innate thought that it would cost 1cp (default cost)

1) good
2) good - when this gets implemented could you also make a way to check how many of each item is in a stack? id like to be able to monitor the stock and refill whatever is getting sold down.
3) everything disapears? thats kinda lame Im going to have to take everything off of her like a week ahead of time then just to make sure I dont fry my motherboard and lose everything i worked for i guess. Wish i had known that before buying it and putting so much gear on it
4) okey dokey
5) have not attempted to i just thought of it last night when i was posting this list of questions
6) okey sounds good, i figured it out quickly that it would do that so i know not to talk with her selected - but i was kinda curious.

And ive tested various ways to interact with it but i cant find a way to buy anything as the owner of the vendor without logging an alt. I thought I could before because initially all my items had the 'buy' button greyed out for me - its open now but it always says i dont have enough pp to buy the item regardless of how much pp i have. Thanks Foonman.

Oh one other question Ive run into - what is the max # of items that will be shown? Seems to be about 46 items although it seems to change - like if I add items to it I cant see them all initially, but then after someone browses them more become visible to me. For instance right now on my vendor there are 4 items that are not visible to me or to buyers.

If you give your vendor 100pp it will extend the period you own it by a week. So give it 5200pp and you have it for a year (+ your current time).

1) I'll look at the bug, but it seems strange, as I tested vendors throughoutly with no issues. What item was it, exactly?

2) 10 RL weeks.

3) It all goes away. She goes back to being (None) and anything on her is lost.

4) She may carry one of any lore item, even if you have it.

5) NO RENT items are supposed to poof off her after a while. If this isn't the case then it needs fixing.

6) Then the next item will cost nothing.

3) Uh, why don't you just extend her time when it starts approaching two weeks or something?

no rent

any chance of allowing summoned items to be sold? and not poof after a short time

Ok cool that clears up everything cept for the 3 bugs Ive run into since I opened it then - The first was a greyed out 'buy' button when I first opened the vendor, going away after a while (the item was a Bracer of Vexfire). The second is an occasional inability to buy back as the owner for free or for the correct pp, and the third is, and maybe this is just me, but apparently items far down in the vendors inventory dont get shown (40+ items? not sure how many it takes).

Problem with not displaying all items is fixed.

NO RENT selling on vendors is gone due to the exploitability.

Problem with buying your own vendors' item has a fix, needs patching.
