I'm probably not the first to think of this but doing a search of the forums reveals nothing.
I'll just list the ideas:
--Panning--
This tradeskill compliments jewelcrafting much in the way mining compliments blacksmithing.
Instead of having to kill NPC's for a random chance of getting gems why not have the option to be able to sit down beside a creek, lake, ocean (whatever) and pan for gems.
It would open up a new avenue to support a trade as well as provide new ways to create an income (via selling gems to jewellery makers or vendors).
The distribution of gems and skill ups would probably be best done like fishing and mining.
--Lumberjack(ing?)--
This tradeskill compliments Fletching.
Only thing I can think of is have the option of being able to farm timber (shafts) from trees. Different trees from different zones provide different quality arrow shafts.
I'm not sure about arrow heads and nocks (etc), maybe other people would have some ideas.
