New to the game solo/grouping ?s

Im new to the game but have a few questions before I start. How hard is it to find groups from the start? I played a rogue on EQ back in its hayday and never had a problem finding a group. I'd like to play a rogue again but if grouping will be hard to come by I'll go another route.

As far as soloing goes I'm not sure what the differences between SoD and EQ but what classes are the easiest to solo with? I'm sure you've answered these questions before ut thanks for the information.

I never had a problem grouping at lower levels, in fact, it was much easier grouping from 1-65 than its been at 65.

And I'd venture that a rogue would be great at 65, because buff bots don't come along for the ride, and CC is needless. More room for DPS!

Rogues are the supreme dealers of Melee DPS, end of story.
They don't do much else however, they are difficult to solo with as much of your DPS comes from backstabbing.

Rangers afaik get pretty close to Rogue DPS but (though depending on rogue / rangers gear) never can quite beat it. but rangers solo decently (well - if they have arrows) and bring lots of utility to a group.

on a scale of 1-10 (where 1 being not soloable, and 10 being easy solo life)
Note: this ranking assumes one does not have any raid gear or twinkage)

Magicians are supposedly easy to solo. (never tried)..........................7 or 8
Beastlords are pretty easy to solo. they get a.....................................8
Shamans can solo fairly well. they get a..............................................6
Druids can solo safely with snare, they get a......................................9
Rangers are probably in between Necromancers and Beastlords........9
Necromancers.. (only if space is plentiful)...........................................10
Rogues probably land around a...........................................................4 or 5

Rogues as far as I've heard would land somewhere with the tanking classes, Rogues don't lack DPS but they lack tanking ability.

none of the tanks afaik can solo really well, possibly the shadowknight could come in at a 5 or 6. Tank classes don't lack tanking ability, but they lack DPS.

I'm sure I missed something.. Feel free to complete the list.

I haven't done a whole lot post-65, but pre-65 Shadowknights aren't all that bad. Darkness, DoT, Fear, send pet, fear kite it for a bit, and when fear runs out, just tank it and spam lifetaps till OOM, but usually save just a smidge of mana for a cast of FD just in case. I suppose it is kind of similar to Necro strat.

yes, but your pretty much oom after every fight arn't you? which means you need to med before engaging again, which lowers your solo ability # imo.

If I was starting new, I would make a ranger and maybe a druid box. On this server its "okay" to have 2 accounts running at once. This is helpful for those hard to find group times.

Why a ranger? Well, if you look at the top guilds looking for classes, "Rangers" are always higher on the lists. Why a druid box? well, heals, minor buffs, and ports!

But if you really enjoy playing a rogue, do that. Rogues are fun, I never played a rogue in live (always played a monk), rolled a monk as my first character here and still had fun but after making a rogue and twinked it abit, I really had more fun. Now my rogue is my only character I ever play. (well... sometimes I do play a twinked out sk lowbie) :)

Thanks for all the help guys. If finding groups isnt a hard thing to do then rogue is probably the route Ill go as it's what I enjoyed the most in live. But, now I have another question. To run two accounts at once do I have to run two seperate computers or can I run them both off the same one?

I think some people run on the same computer and some actually run on two computers. Im an alt tab kinda guy.
