New Port Enchanter quest line...

Now, I'm aware that most people probably don't even know this quest line exists, so for those unfamiliar with is, check it out here.

This line is the chanter's equivallent of the mages Explosive Flames, quest line, and they're matched lvl for lvl all the way. Thus far.

There's no information on it, and I'm the one filling in the wiki as I go along. But I've run into a problem.
Step 3 requires you to locate 4 Tal`Yan Signet Ring's. Now, the wiki has little information on these, and I guess so far, no one's known what to do with them...

The problem arrises when we look at the actual locating proccess... It's been 3 hours now. I've slaughtered every single mob beneath lvl 40 in this zone a dozen times over. I've literally wiped the zone clear of non 40+ mobs... And I've yet to see one drop.
In comparrison, the mage I dragged aong for her part of the quest, found all her drops in the first area of Yaralith. If these quests are to be mirrored, it strikes me that something is wrong?

From the looks of it, some serious tweaking needs to be done if these quests are to be on par. The rewards so far have been identical, so I presume they will be here too... But so far, we've found ample mage items. But not a single chanter. The quest giver simply said "obtained from Yaralith" so even there, we found no help...

I would suggest looking at this part of the quest, and tweaking the drop rates, or requirements of the items needed. So far, if we're to assume that the reward is the same as the mages, then it's not even remotely worth it. Which is a shame as a lot of work has obviously been put into the dialogue of this rather humerous quest line...

Its in, and its off of mobs below level 40.

Keep looking.

Well, that being said, I would still urge that my point stands... If this is indeed the same quest line, merely for different classes, then the drop rates should at least somewhat mirror each other?

This doesn't seem to be the case at all...

I'll keep grinding, but the time sink, in comparrison to what the mages do, for what I at the pressent presume to be the same item, is incomparable...

Its taking longer, because by your own account, you dont have a guide telling you exactly which mobs to go to.

So yeah, its gonna take longer, as you first have to find what drops it, then kill them.

If you head straight in from the zoneline towards the temple/dropdown area , right after the double doors there are mobs that definitely drop these and had a very good chance iirc

Ok, so I have a confirmed drop on Ritual Guards. But so far, only ritual guards.
The Tal'Yan Prayer Sheets have so far dropped of off Temple Guards, Seers and Bone Casters. All of which are vastly more numerous than Ritual Guards.

Ritual Keepers have no confirmed drop, even on my second day of grinding them. Only ritual guards at this point. I have amassed 3 of the 4 Tal'Yan Signet Rings I need, but in the mean time, I've found enough prayer sheets to do the mage quest 4 times over.

With both higher confirmed drop rates on mobs, as well as seemingly more mobs to choose from, and vastly more spawns in effect of this, the balance between the two quest seems scewered.

Even if guards, seers or bone casters drop, the rate so far speaks for itself.

If other mobs than the ritual guards drop the rings, it is also noteworthy to keep in mind, that any mobs aside from these, will be higher lvl. And thus the balance is scewered again, since the reward is the same...?

Drop rates are the same. You are simply unlucky. And both items drop off of 2 different mobs of similar levels. You are simply wrong on this one.

Fair enough. You have the hard numbers, not I. Was merely wondering since it seemed unlikely that one could be unlucky to the point of statistical impossibility... Evidently, one can.

Then again, it wouldn't be the first time.

Feel free to close, lock or what ever you deem fit, this thread. The question raised has been answered and I've updated the wiki accordingly.

Thanks for your help.
