New player wanting suggestions

I know there are probably about eighty billion different FAQs but I'd like to know from this community what would be best for a necromancer to learn/raise while leveling?

Right now my five initial skill points went to one handed melee simply because at the time i had neglected to look at the two spells I had scrolls for(doh!) and even so I don't know what class each one goes under(shield and something touch, without the server to look at I can't exactly check).

Also is there any way to remap the controls? Sorry its just I'm so used to the EDSF control system that tribes 2 gave me(with freelook always enabled, no right and hold needed). A matter of conveniance for playability's sake since i'm used to side to side strafing rather than simply turning me 'round.

Didn't see any sort of option to reconfigure keyboard setup but perhaps there are files i could edit to do the job.

Frist of all, the game engine is very mature and has great configurability. Look under the options menu for remapping keys. Also when online, just ask your questions on line and some nice person will surely answer you. Good hunting!

After clicking options from the main menue I only get optiosn reguarding graphics, nothign in reguards to keymapping.

Its in options... Click on the tab that says keyboard, your looking at the general/display tab.

I see no tabs and the scrollbar will nto scroll for me. I believe you, and I also believe I'm overlooking something thats starring me right in the face. But that is what I am looking at right now.

Is it the options while ingame? There is an options area found while ingame that allows for changing clip plane etc...

Yes there is, Simply click the options button on your huge menu bar (usually at the top of the screen)

There is a way to manually do your keymapping, BUT you need to know the right commands to enter otherwise they won't work. You can find all your keymapping alterations in your eqclient.ini file under [KeyMaps].
