New player question

I have been working through the forums and that wiki thing ... trying to get a'hold of the basics before I go plow'in into the game. Couple of questions if I may...

1) I see in the FAQs on the main page that CHA is important for INT casters to help against resists ... is this true for necros, cause that seems out of context to me.

2) Are items easy to come by to raise stats or is that even an issue till higher in the mid-levels?

Many thanks for any info on this. Roped here at work so I can't find out for myself. BTW GMs, thanks for taking out the furries ... get rid of the webfeet and all would be grand! /hates fly eaters

Most items in the high end game are loaded with yummy stats. Put in your time and you'll get them. You can get items like Kelp Covered Sandals that are 15 str/agi, but no AC. Personally, I'd rather have some AC.

Now, as for your first question, yes, charisma (they are an int. caster after all) affects Necromancers and their resist rates. I advise that when you do eventually start getting AA's, to put three points into CHA, rather than WIS / INT., just because it's much easier to raise those stats, but much more difficult to raise charisma. And hell, the six charisma could make the difference between wasting 250 mana, or not.

Yes between having 139 charisma buffed, and 145 points in focus/mind I'm VERY rarely resisted. Not sure which it is that adds the most but focus/mind is a very good way to go to help keep from being resisted.

Great! Thanks for all the responses!

I was really bummed out by the ease of plat on Live for newbies. Some 1st time players had 250+ stats!! This games just sounds like it's gonna rock!!

We try to keep both mudflation and the economy on a very short leash. So far it's worked out okay.
