New Patcher issue

Decided to start playing SoD again, so I grabbed the new patcher, and the new files.zip and put them in my old SoD directory, and then I went to run the patcher. And it just sat there, at getting patch list. I am not behind a firewall, I didnt have an issue with the patcher before, and I have the .net framework. But it just sits there, like its mocking me, mocking my existance. Any help available? I am sure its probably something simple, but I havent seen any posts with fixes yet.

If you haven't done so yet, try going into Advanced and selecting Repatch All on the SOD patcher. Might well not work, but it's worth a shot. Beyond that, I'm not really sure. Some routers do have certain ports blocked by default, and it may be that the new patcher uses different ports than the old one. As far as I know, though, we don't have a list of the ports used by SOD and/or the patcher, so I can't recommend forwarding any of them. It might also just be some kind of bug.

If all else fails you might want to try patching to Live with a complete file check and re-extracting the SOD files, then trying the SOD patcher again.

I get the exact same problem and always have since the latest patcher, i could patch with the old one if i recall correctly.

My SOD was running fine as of a few months ago

Wiz we are following your steps of "run the god damned patcher you morons" but it's not working :?

I am using a router with its own inbuilt firewall but it usually never has much of a problem, could i possibly get the port(s) the SOD patcher uses and try opening them up?
 
I was having the same problem. Here's what I did to fix it:

Click advance, rebrowse for your EQ folder, click it, click ok. Then click Repatch all, hit ok, then hit Patch and Run. Voila, it *should* work. :)
 
Michael, please read the previous posts. If the author had successfully repatched, he would not have come back to this thread.
