New kick suggestion

Might be a dumb idea and maybe not even possible, but what if the AC on your boots added some sort of +damage on your kicks? That would bump up the damage a little bit and make your kicks actually be something meaning full.

I guess you could say that boots already have damage adding capabilities in the form of procs but not all boots have something like that and if you upgrade them for something obviously better for tanking, you go back to using a skill that does nothing really.

If AC acted as a damage add that would be a tiny boost in overall dps which would be a small benefit in clicking the kick button every 6 seconds or whatever the refresh is. An example would be a boot item that has 40 AC and if your max kick hits for roughly 20 damage.. the AC would act as a +40 damage boost for a total of 60 damage on the kick. That is less damage than a average swing on a 1 handed weapon that you get every 6 seconds.. very minor upgrade but max hit kick much more worth it.

If you used the AC on the item as a judge then itemization is already done for you since lower tier items have low ac and gradually get higher as you go up in tiers which would mean a gradual upgrade in damage over time.

Like i said, it might be a dumb idea but im throwing it out there to see what other people think about the idea.
 
Boots with bane damage do moar dmg. Some boots have awesome procs (see frost boots, farhag boots, etc). Certain, IDK what to call them, "cool down attacks" (back stab & flying kick for DPS, bash for aggro, etc) help supliment class roles and distinguish certain classes.
 
I think I remember on live that like after levle 55 warrior kick could stun/interupt casting. Aside from procs kick is pretty lame, it might be neat if kick was made into a weak intimidate. For example your kick has a chance to make your enemy
-fumble his next attack
-stun him for a second
-make you snared cause you broke your leg trying to kick like a damn fool
-do nothing but dmg

Making kick dmg scale with AC is not a bad idea either as unless you have procing boots kick is useless past lvl 10 or so. Or maybe it could be item weight, heavy ass boots gonna hurt to get kicked with you know.

Yes.. along with bash, range attack, and backstab. Not sure of your point.

I did not know the part about the bane damage, but i knew that +elemental damage did nothing except add damage to your spells. And i do have the frost boots which got me thinking about the whole idea since when im meleeing now i actively use kick hoping for a 2.4k nuke to go off (ranger spell crits ftw!). I was just thinking that kick is supposed to be straight DPS (very tiny dps) so i was thinking of ways to make it more attractive for the ranger and warrior classes.
