New Enchanter Needs Help!

Hi,

Ive played old EQ for years but never really played an Enchanter, so I thought I'd give it a shot. First let me say that I dont get alot of time online, so Im not really a group person right now, I dont think it would be fair. (I know, maybe its the wrong class). Anyway, when I pull a Mob, I end up pulling multiples every other time. I am able to solo yellows at level 6, so Im mostly happy with the class. I thought it might be the location, so I started travelling to see if it was that particular locale. Well, I got kind of a shock in *kelethin and freeport. So Im not in Kansas anymore, I just need some advice on either strategy or a better location.
Any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks,

Tom

I haven't leveled an enchanter, so can't help you with strategy, but check out the stickied SoD related websites - Must have list thread in this forum.

Of particular relevance to you are:
- Zone Connection Map - Compliments of Sstecik which will show you the levels of the various zones on this server... They've VERY different than live was.
- Sigh In Tranquility - Enchanter Class Forums - no idea how active this is.
- The Wikipedia is an excellent source of information on quests.

You can also use the Search feature at the top of the fourms to find lots of suggestions about where to hunt at various levels.

Welcome!

At level 6 you are pretty much constrained to the newb areas which are:

North Newport/Centaur Hills - up to about 10ish, this is the most crowded place
Stinger's Bog (off of Grobb) - stay in the middle to the south wall of zone, around Mielech entrance - north part of zone is too high...no where to buy/sell though, guards will snack on you
Greenmist (off of Oggok)
Steamfont (off of Underhill - Akanon on live)
Mistwoods (off of Erudin - Tox on live) - north part only
Gfay (minimal using Athica, formerly Felwithe, as a base to work from)
Halls of Mielech (off of Stinger's Bog - upper guk on live) - grouped only
Everfrost - stay in the mountains (same newb area on live)

You wont really need too much strategy besides pet/offensive spell/melee for a good few more levels. Then you will truly grow into the class and be able to get a feel for all that an enchanter can do.
