New Char

Alright so recently i felt the EQ Urge return to me. I didnt know how often id be playing so i went in search of free servers and found this one. So here i am. An entire year after i quit "for good".(seems like thats what everyone says) Anyways, i havent really played around much on the server but from what i here its really good. But since i dunno how often il be playing or when il need to go when i am playing, id like to hear from you, the players, what a good solo class may be. I had a 51 pally before so im pretty familiar wit EQ, even though this is slightly different.

Thanks for the input and hope to see you around.

Well, it is quite differant on this server than most. First of all its more of a group oriented server from what i have seen, but if you want to solo, all i can say, is make a char with HPs like a warrior, and dps like a rouge :) and you will be set! :)

Honestly, i dont know in the long run seeing as i still am a lowbie. :)

Either way, i'm sure you will have fun and enjoy the server - it is quite nice.

Ok thanks. The reason i ask is that i may need to go at any time and i dont want to be really involved in something then need to leave. Say past a bazillion mobs then be like " OH man i g2g" Later guys" and have to run back through it all or leave my group without whatever i was.

Oh im also having a problem with getting the new char models. Ive loaded and reloaded Luclin and they wont show up. Anyone have any suggestions?

If you are running 512 megs of ram, you should be able to have all of the modles on, most likely they are turned off ATM, all you need to do is click on the option button when you load up EQ, and it will go thru the standard screens:
1. Choose your display adapter
2. Choose your modles
3. Final Graphics Settings

You should get the new modles after that. if not.. hmm i dunno

Yeah i know. I dont even get the option to turn them on though. I go to options, get to the first screen where you turn sound and screensize and stuff, then it says Thank you for choosing eq or something and i go back to the main screen.

I figured it out. DUH Stupid me. It installed my Luclin files int c/program files/sony/everquest instead of c/programfiles/everquest. Another reason why you should always pay attention where you install things.

Pretty much the same as on eqlive... shaman, bard, druid etc..

I know shaman are good soloers, never played one, mages and necromancers are really good at that too (now im playing a mage), but I didnt know bards were good soloers :? How's that sp4mm?
In my opinion, druids arent good soloers, you dont have much open areas, and its very difficult to find a group sometimes due to few population

Fast runspeed + Manafree, infinite dots = Good soloer. Not to mention the high level charm soloing.

Sow + Snare + Dots + Nukes + Heals = Good outdoor soloer. If the lack of a good outdoor zone is a problem at any given level, then that's a whole different problem, and unrelated to the class, per say.

That was like I said, its because of little outdoor zones druids arent effective :(
