New AA titles for INT casters

Slaariel

*The Only Real Life Girl Dev*
Here is the short-hand version of the problem:

Currently, for three INT casters, the titles are Baron -> Master -> Sage.

Currently, for Necros, the titles are Baron -> Sage -> Lich.

Necros have an awesome end-title while mages, wizards, and enchanters are stuck looking like 2nd-tier necros even though they may have 5x the AA. Also, sages are old ladies and beardy dudes and my mage is neither of those things. I'd be quite happy with Master / Mistress as the final title and Sage as the second, frankly, but if there is an opportunity to change them, I think we can come up with some better titles for each of the classes!

This is not only a problem with INT casters as all those Elders out there know, but why let all those Prowlers and Sensei and Impresarios/Muses have all the fun. Those are all so great especially the Bard titles! This is the problem!

So, as a Magician, I both suggest and request that Sage and Master/Mistress be swtiched at the very least. But it would be best if all classes had their own titles upon reaching that level of achievment, so I am also Requesting a brainstorming on what titles could be used for this.

Here is a short list of titles that I'm coming up with right now:

Magician: Summoner, Conjurer, Elementalist, Arch Mage, High Summoner, Rabbitpuller (ok not really), Prestidigitator.
Enchanter: Controller, Mesmerist, Glamourist.

Well you get the point. Let's see some suggestions for your own under-titled classes!

Bards have lame titles
Baron < Veteran < Impressario (It's even spelled wrong :( )

The first three level titles are so much better. Minstrel < Troubadour < Virtuoso

I agree wholeheartedly, I always thought "Sage" was a pretty lame final title, and having unique AA titles for every class would be nice as well.
The only trick would be ensuring that none of them overlap with the 60-65 titles already in place for each class, because there really arent enough cool sounding fantasy titles to describe four distinct schools of magic.

Bards should be Baron < Veteran < Queen.

Prowler sucks. It's a word with a negative connotation describing a traditionally good (or at least neutral) class.

Female rangers get Guardian :psyduck:

Beastlords should be changed so no one asks me for shaman buffs anymore.

Animist/Controller/

So on So on

druids titles are
level 55 preserver 60 hierophant 65 earthshaper
aa title 6 baron 12 venerable 18 elder

is there any way of changing the druids away from elder seeing as shm and bst already get that title and it dosen't really keep with druid class

i'd prefer Arch Mage for magicians, but isn't that already the 65 title for Necro's?

I think many people would be happy w/ the level titles of 51-60 being put in place of the current AA titles, right?

We can change the names, but we can't add new titles.
He is referencing the level titles, but I think it may be the same for the AA titles. Level titles in /w are pointless and confusing to those who have non memorized all 60 extra names and which of the classes they refer to. Doing away with them and moving many of these level titles to those of the AA name title would be pretty cool

edit2:
Or tie both the AA and /w title together, making them the same thing and reflect in /w which AA title the person has. (Most likely undoable)

I approve of the intent of this thread, but I'd like to point out that AA titles should be short whenever possible. It's not a hard and fast rule, but it's certainly important--EQ is not good at compressing name text.

Just FYI, people can change certain (most) titles/phrases on your end by editing the eqstr.txt file found in your EQ directory. It's the file that tells the client what to display when certain packets are recieved, and contains all of the class titles, /who titles, skill messages, etc.

Hahaha sweet myth, thanks much. Going to have to ahve some fun with that.
