Net Framework 1.1 question.

Windows Update wants me to install this: "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1"

It is an update through the automatic update. Will updating this screw with my ability to play SoD.


If so...Microsoft can go :psyduck: themselves. hehe. Any insight would be very much appreciated.
 
This is a very old update, most of the people running SoD probably have this installed - it works just fine.
 
Last I knew you actually need 1.1 versus 2.0 in order for it to work with SoD, so people with the newer version would just install and have both.
 
I have 1.1 installed. I've been playing for several months now (Love it!). I just dindt' want to do this update if it screwed with things. How :tinfoil: that would be.
 
It is possible to have 1.1 and 2.0 installed at the same time? Would it do anything bad if i installed 1.1 on a newer computer?
 
It's safe to install different versions side-by-side. The patcher would probably run fine with just 2.0, but I've never tested it.
 
A lot of people who have .net framework 2.0 and not 1.1 have reported sodbin.exe errors. Installing 1.1 (side by side since it's possible) is the most common fix.
 
Yeah, I think I actually have 3 versions of the net framework installed. yeah, 1.1, 1.1 hotfix, 2.0, 2.0 update, and 3.0 all side by side and it causes no conflicts.
