Neglected weapon skills

Let's say for a minute that I have been a lazy SK, and I've had so much fun for 30 levels beating stuff down with a 1HS and shield that I have forgotten to train all my other skills (1HB, 2HB, 2HS, Piercing) - I know, weaksauce.

Now I realize, damn, I had better train these skills up so I can use some of the other awesome weapons I've picked up.

So my max skill for these weapons is 155, times four skills is 620 training points total. The first 100 in each skill sucks the worst cause you just swing (usually missing) for hours and gain points very slowly. This needs to be performed on a lt blue or higher npc, all the while it has no problems beating on you. Or I can switch to my other weapons while in a group and severely lower my DPS and tanking ability. Not a very good situation.

So my question is, what is the best way for me to get these skill up to an acceptable level as quick as possible?

I suppose I could visit my friendly, evil, SK guild leader and trade him some of my training points I've been accumulating to increase my weapon skills. Is there a limit to how high he can train? Also If I only gain 10 points per level, then I would only have at most 300 points. I suppose that's enough to at least get a good head start on the skills so I don't suck too bad.

Is there a specific reason why weapon skill can't be gained on green npcs, or against PCs?

Your best bet is to just hit things slowly, you can trade with the guildmaster, however, when you train up alot of points it can end up costing you hundreds of plat in the wallet. It sucks training weapon skills, but definitely worth it!

A) Load a healer bot, hit a light blue mob for hours
B) Do it in a group, if you can find a group pre 65 who complains about dps I can tell you one group who takes this game way to seriously

All I ever did was drop 20 points into them because 1-20 always seemed to take forever. Its going to suck whichever way you do it. I don't know if there is a maximum for weapon skills but your going to pay out the ass in platinum at some point.

Find a spot with lots of easy light blues and go to town. Lifetap to keep yourself healed.

Heh i did the same but worse with my sk, got to level 65 with only skill in 1hs :'(

I learnt my lesson, and all dps characters since i have kept every melee skill up as they level.

Defiantly work on it now, if you're not tanking just skill up in groups. Once they are all on par as i recall it's something like 5 skill points per level, and it kind of makes each level go past quick because you can barely skill them all up before ding.

Well, It seems as there is not limit (at least he'll train above 100) that the SK trainer can train. Sure it cots a bit of pp, around 100 skill it gets to be like 7PP+ per point increase - but oh well. This seems to be a great way to increase those seldom used skills at least up to a decent level.

Thanks for all the tips, nice to know I'm not alone in my slacking.

WTB more training points!

My buddy had (still has, I guess) a warrior, and he realized that by the time he was 55 he only had skill in 1hs, 1hb, pierce, DW, and kick. Desiring to train in the other abilities, he went out to GD, found a wolf, kodiak, or whatever he could find out there that was LB, pulled it to just outside agro range of guards in the "igloo", and wailed on it till he was about 15%, then let the guard eat it. It took him a bit, but he got his 2-hand abilities, as well as bash and disarm, up to par.

Later he stripped him down and twinked a Necro.
