Need some info on Kedge Keep

Not sure on the exact levels of mobs there. I know any level 65 caster can solo the shark at the entrance, but that a high 50s group can have difficulty.

In the first room (after you get past the shark) there are 3 alcoves, each containing one or two plants that summon but dont hit too hard. These also will wipe a sub-60 group if you are not careful.

In order to make a trip there worth while you want to have at least a 60 plus group, preferably a full group of 65s.

However, there are some folks who will duo the first room and the area below it, but it is real slow.

The room below that has 4 alcoves, each with a couple of sharks, and I think a couple of wanderers. Either the East or South alcove is a safe place to start (I think south, but cant recall). It is the one without a gate blocking it.

The alcoves have holes in the floors and ceilings which lead to other levels, and there are pirahna which will agro if you get too close to the holes. So avoid the holes until you are ready for a fight with 3 or 4 pirahnas.

Down one of these holes is a trap (or two) that spawn mudcrawlers. These are basically high level renders, very mean. If you dont have a good level 65 group, these will wipe you. You can do them wiht less than a full group, but you have to work really well together.

There are a bunch of named with decent loot in this area, none of them particularly tough.

It is important to note that the pirahnas here hit 6 times each round, and damage shields due huge amounts of damage to them. Down the holes you will find some tougher pirahnas that hit a lot harder than the initial ones, so be careful.

Deeper in there are several raid mobs, as well as a raid event. I have not gone that far, however.

And of course, Kedge Water drops here. I am not sure about the snareweeds in the entrance, but all other mobs do drop Kedge Water. There is lots of demand for this, with someone always buying if you keep an eye on auction.

i use to duo kedge keep with my war/dru. both 65. i was able to take on the blade spawn + the 4 piranahs around him + the ent shark + the 5 other sharks + the hammerfang spawn + the 3 other piranahs below the single shark spawn. forget which box he is in. that was a general run. with more dps i was able to toss in spike spawn area which is 2 bigger piranahs and 2 swordfish. not a hard area at all and the exp is insane. the loot isnt bad as the waters are very nice to find. once you learn everything its not bad at all. i believe sharks hit for like 150-170 max.. piranahs like 30-40... the bigger ones hit up to like 80-90 and fast as well. the swordfish hit up to 220 i believe. blade hits up near 250s iirc. hammerfang around 190. mudcrawlers, which are triggered from traps, arent hard either and i usually kill those on my first run.. i beleive they are a very long respawn as the trap has to refresh or whatever. they are straight down the tunnel on way to the blade area, which is the box with no door. there is a roaming piranah that goes up and down from the top to the way to blade area.. everything there is single pull if u know what ur doing, as far as the stuff i listed.. if u go in deeper gl to you! i found it a bad idea. good luck.

i highly recommend not charming in kedge. unless u can dire charm it... but im not sure if u can.. id guess em to be to high. the zone is pure water.. and druids dont swim fast.... u are likely to die more often then not. just my tip to you.

how many people are generally in kedge at any time? do pick-up groups form or do u need to bring a pre-assembled group?

just dinged 60 on my cleric and id like to check it out... shud i wait a few lvls more or is 60 appropriate? meaning i will bring 57-63 friends withs me

Unless of course you could wear like those tidewalker sandels or whatever they are, maybe even get a soulbonded ill froglock (though who knows if this will actually affect swimming speed, frogs do swim crazy fast though). Then sowed you might be able to outrun the shark...well outswim.

There is anywhere from 0-15ish people in kedge at any given time. When I've gone It's usually been my group in the zone alone or occasionally another group and a duo'er in the zone. Unless of course someone is raiding something. IMO, it is a zone you would bring a group to vs forming a pick up group there. Water zones are usually more tricky and pick up groups tend to be less organized to say the least (again IMO and from my experience).

Yeah. Kedge has a way of punishing pubbies. Going there with people you know, have grouped with before, and trust to be good at their job is a much better plan.

edit: this goes for Red Sun Mines and Fire Grottos too.
