Need help with installing

Hello, I recently found out about Shards of Dalaya and immediately wanted to play. I went out and purchased a used copy of ********* Anniversary Edition (the only copy available). I tried installing it but partway through the 5th of 8 install cds the installation fails and terminates. I was able to install the file to run the patcher, and I was wondering if I just ran the patcher and got all the rest of the files I'm missing through that - will I still be able to play SoD or will I have trouble?

Any help is appreciated, thank you! Hope to be playing ASAP!
 
hmm well I am downloading files right now from EQlive. Awhile back they updated my account and offered me an invite to play again for free for a month. The invite included a free update of all expansions up to the newest one at the time, cant remember which. This was less than a year ago. I played for the month and quit again. I just used my old username/pw again and signed in, and it appears to be updating me right now (or at least I hope anything with a 4 hour download time is them updating me...).

I guess my question is, once I am updated with all the files from live - if I run the SoD patcher will I be able to play SoD, even though it seems to be updating me to the most current files of live?

Thank you, sorry if this was mentioned elsewhere but I couldnt find it and/or because I am very untechnical and didnt understand :)
 
I don't know the answer to your question; I would suggest if you're already in the process of doing so, go ahead and try it.

However, if it doesn't work, last time I patched to live you had the option to select the expansions you wished to patch. If this is still the case, reinstall the base (or copy the patcher exe to a new directory), and just patch through GOD. That will work.
