need help with 8 mb video card

i  cant  seent to  play sod on  this  8 mb video card its   really  really  laggy could any one  give me any tips on how to  beef it  up where i can  play with out no lag in it thanks until i get my main computer fix it seemed to died on me for some odd reason this is tempory back up computer im on now
 
To run the client without any new models a 32 meg graphics card will work fine. To run with most full models you would need a 64 meg video card, and to run everything max you would need a 128 meg video card or higher.
 
I played with a 4mb video card not too long ago before I built my newer secondary machine. Just turn off all new models including elementals and horses, turn off social animations, lower textures to medium or low, and run in 800x600 or 1024x768, but nothing higher. Leave dynamic lighting on thoguh or things will be real dark in caves and such.
 
If it will be a month or 2 before you get your other computer fixed or if you are willing to spend a few bucks you may want to look into getting a little better video card. Tiger Direct has some cards at that link starting at 5 bucks for a 64meg card. Also check into computer repair shops or component shops around you for cards. Many times they will have older cards and sometimes will give you them for free. We have gotten a couple of server towers from the 80's for free because we had to rebracket them for new motherboards/drives.
 
i just did what you said luciferblack and its still laggy as 240 hell i dont know what the deal is its a 1.1ghz with a 7200 rpm harddrive 640 mb's of memory and a 8 mb video card the only thing i can think of is the problem is the video card thats the only thing slow on this back up computer
