Necromancer: Mana Pumping

I read the posts, I know why it was removed, I'm glad it was removed. I don't know if there's any thoughts of replacing it with anything, but in the event that that is a possability, I'd like to submit 2 suggestions.

The first would be replacing the twitch spells with spells with similar function, but larger yield, and longer recast timer. For example, a 5-10 minute timer, but transfering as much as 8-10x as much mana in a cast.

The function here would be as an emergency type spell ("Oh damn, the cleric's out of mana and we have mobs incoming!"), but one that groups wouldn't expect the necro to be using all the time (like the one that was removed).

Another suggestion would be to add a spell line that acts as a buff / debuff much like the life transfer over time spells do now, but transfers mana. Example might be, taking 4 mana per tick from the necro, giving 2 mana per tick to their target, for a low level version. (this is roughly the same ratio as the twitch spells, if I remember correctly).

While the function of transfering mana to others isn't necesary, I'll admit, it was a nice ability to have in groups, and being able to retain the ability without it being as much of a pain as it used to, would be great. Necros have some great potential mana regeneration, and it makes me cry every time I'm in a group where the cleric's requesting med time, and I'm sitting there full. (No, really. The tear stains on my keyboard are becoming a major issue.)

10 times as much?

I was be in my 50s before I had the mana pool to cast a 2000 cost spell, much less you are trading their med time for your own.

Making it the same but less frequest changes nothing, it just makes it more botable. You would still nto be allowed to cast as you would need to always be full for twitching on demand.

Finally, do we really need necro lines on "Twitch Rotation"

Macro "TWITCH"
/say Necro 4 recieved, twitching in 30 seconds
/pause 300
/sit off
/cast 5
/say Necro 5, begin your countdown

Given 3 clerics here... you only need 30 necros!

i guess you dont understand how easy it was to bot a necro on twitch rotation. here, i'll write down what i used

Title=Zaira
/target Zaira
/pause 2 (to make sure lag doesnt mess up casting on the wrong target)
/cast 5 (my 1st twitch)
/pause 55 (3 seconds cast time, 2.5 seconds to make sure it doesnt mess up)
/cast 6 (my 2nd twitch)

i would have all the rotation clerics on one hotbar, and if i needed to twitch them all, i would just click their name, and it would target them and cast for me.

i've easily twitched all three clerics on rotation using this method.

next, necro's on raids were assigned healers to give mana to. most necro's could easily chain those two spells to constantly add mana to their healer, so no need to have multiple necro's on one healer and doing a rotation. by the time the second twitch got done, the first would almost be ready to cast.

finally, what would be the point of doing a 5-10 minute twitch timer that transfers 10x as must for 10x the casting cost? the lvl 55 twitch is 400 mana, that means it would be changed to 4000, which would pretty much drain a necro down to only being able to cast 1-2 spells on the mob, not to mention having to wait through the raid sitting on his ass waiting for the cleric to call for mana. that still wouldnt fix what wiz had visioned when he took out necro twitch.

There already was a "replacement". With dots you are now able to remove up to 10 or 15% dps from mobs.

Yeah, honestly, what's the deal here? You can remove a significant amount of damage from a raid mob while simultaneously doing pretty good DPS and being one of the most survivable classes in the game with rez to boot. Necro rez has saved Legacy from reclearing a bunch of times.

Mind wrack is still in right? If so it still allows the necro to help the mana of the group. Tapping target mana and having it spread to whole group at 50/tic for 6 tics is very very nice IMO. Necro cannot be a battery now but can still give a general boost.

/applause

Always felt so dirty after being used as a battery on Live. Often it was one of the few reasons they wanted necros along. They ignored our additional damage, our ability to pull in a pinch (snare+feign=easy split) and our general ability to help out with adds and pinch mezzes (like in PoF, all our chanters died and 3 necros held about a dozen mobs mezzed while the chanters got going again)

I've never seen this necro rez saving legacy, except the time I botted vizan in prison. 75-140 DPS isn't anything to brag about =).

When I was playing Desouza, I had to rez the clerics while FDed after wipe plenty of times. So uh, yes it has saved raids.

Same a few times

I'm wondering, since Chanters are so big on the Mana drain and mana regen spells, why dont they instead inherit the "twitch" line? I mean I've always noticed this that even on Live they were moving farther and farther away from the Chanters Clarity line giving a nice Mana regen spell to druids and beastlords, and I was kinda sadened to see that Necros had been giving the gift of "giving blue stuff" I mean seriously, Necros are suppose to control the undead, not GIVE stuff they could be using to someone else!

Let the chanters do their job of mana control, since whenever I was on it was always "Mez this, mez that, HASTE PLZ! OMG THEY HURT, GET IT OFF GET IT OFF! AOE Stun....well, the chanter died..." Yes, just another day as Soro...*sighs*

Noone gets the mana pump shtick now because it makes the class only do that and it's extremely boring. Huzzah!
