Necro stacking.

I'm not really sure if with the recent changes to necros this was intentional, so i'm going to throw it out there, and see what's going on.

I remember a while ago changes were made so different necros, could cast the same dot on a mob, and it would stack with the other necros dot. Recently i've noticed that my dots are fading prematurely, and i couldn't figure it out, however when i checked my logs, it seems my dots are being overwritten by another necro. In the case of carress of sivyana, sometimes overwritten by a shamans casting. Obviously, any changes that were intentional I have no room to argue, i jsut wanted to clarify if it was intentional.
 
I do not know about overwriting but Wiz had posted that DoTs had been shortened in duration and increased in damage to balance it out. Could that be part of what you are seeing?
 
The OP stated that it seems that the Shaman DoTs are overwritting the Necro DoTS. This may or may NOT be the case. Danku is merely pointing out that the changes to DoTs could be responsible for what seems like DoTs being overwritten.
 
The only DoTs that will not stack with the same DoT cast by a different player are the ones with debuffs in them.

Would this include the slow(snare?) line for necros/sk?

As snare is a debuff, the answer to this should be pretty obvious.
 
- Halved the duration and doubled the damage on Disease DoTs (this was actually done a good while ago, we're just not sure anyone noticed.)

Maybe off topic, but I didn't notice a change with necro dots, at least about dmg (didn't pay attention to duration but didn't seem to change too) . Plague lvl 52 still does the ghetto 80dmg . And devouring darkness snaredot 138dmg for example (it's not a disease but I read it is a debuff dot so it falls in this case).

Maybe not yet implemented ? that would make the disease spell a bit more useful, with all those guys with heavy DPS killing mobs before I can cast my set of dots...

There might be a bug here then, unless caress of sivyana has a nested debuff i was unaware of.

It is not stacking between necros, or shamans.
 
Last time people said this and I tested it it worked fine but okay, I'll test it again.
 
I'm not sure what to tell yah, but my caress spell is notorious now for being a waste of mana. Because it's our biggest damage dishing dot, and it's also a shaman spell. So in a raid, or 2 group situation, lots of people are casting that spell. Obviously, look into it as best you can, if i run across anything else, I'll tell yah, maybe give u some directioning.
 
I understand Dooming Darkness overwriting, but yesterday a buddy was saying Boil Blood was overwriting. I cannot say for sure, because I was the higher level this time.

Will ask about it specifically this next time.
