Necro questions

Hey all, I know this is going to sound super nooby, but I'm ok with that...

I'm going to roll a Necromancer tomorrow since I'm really not enjoying playing my bard at the moment. Anyway how do necros fair on this server? I've read that they are good at soloing, and that's something I need since I have a single box and a weird work schedual.

It dosen't have to be anything too in-depth, but just the basics like how 1-10 will play, 10-20, 20-40, what tactics I can use for soloing, how to not be stupid, etc .

I just want to know what I'm getting into here since I only dabbled with necros on Live, and that was more then 3 years ago!

Well, if you want to solo really well go with a Mage. They solo quite a bit easier then Necro's and can summon some of the most amazing items in the game. (Now all they need to do is be able to port and I think everyone would become one, lol) On the other side, everyone and their mother has a 65 Mage and a Necro is a bit rarer to see.

The main strong points of each class are:
The Mage - Great Pets, Great Damage spells, Great Summons (rings, arrows, gems, etc).
The Necro – Good pets, Great DOTs, Feign Death.

Necro's are fairly good. If you enjoy slapping a few DOT’s on your target and having your pet work on it, then you have the right class, however don’t expect the solo ability and group friendliness of the Mage. You have no idea how much tanks love a mage that can summon haste items lol.
