Necro Pet Proc

Elemental pets get elemental procs still right? I remember seeing that in the tome of knowledge. If this is still the case I would like to know why undead pets(necro/sk) don't get lifetap procs. Would that be too unbalanced? I'm assuming the idea has been batted about and decided against for some reason, so I kinda wanted a little bit of input on the issue.

Necro pets get a dd lifetap proc starting at (I believe) lvl 44 up through lvl 63. The lvl 65 relic pet has a lifetap proc with a short-duration group HoT recourse. I don't think sk pets get innate procs, but i never see sk pets used in the endgame anyway.

I thought the only one was the Relic Pet, and that it was group?

After awhile of using the 48 necro pet I can say, unless its in one of those messages that do not show(i block out misses) it does NOT innately lifetap.

Darian, I was grouped with a 44 necro last night and his pet was lifetapping. (Yourpet hit a decaying gnoll corpse of misery for 45 points of non-melee damage.)

I've noticed that the lifetap proc does not give a message from certain pets, especially the Relic pet (it's been a while since I used the lower ones). All you can look for is the "yourpet hit amonster for xdamage" messages, but make sure that you aren't confusing them with any spell based weapon procs. As far as the relic pet goes, it would proc at least a few times per fight and sometimes would just go nuts and do like 5-7 of them in a row.
