NBA finals

Pistons over Lakers in 5. Anyone remember 2004??

Well I'm hoping to see Lebron do it this year (being in ohio of course im biased). My spurs got it again last year, so I'm content with their little dynasty.

Kobe vs the big 3? snore I don't remember the johnson/bird era being born in the early 80s :p

Kobe vs TheKing FTW

I'll make some changes to my predictions. Spurs are going to sweep the suns. Suns have blown 2 double digit leads in the first two games. They just dont have what it takes.

Also Hornets over dallas. I watched them tonight and they dominated. David West is a full fledged black millionaire superstar womangetter.

Yea, I'm goin with Spurs over the pistons unless somehow the cavs have a magic run. Honestly I feel the hornets are going the be the Spurs biggest opposition until the finals. And well...I honestly don't think the pistons will be any rougher than the suns we're to my boys. Was content with all the titles in the last 9 years, but hell, one more won't hurt :D

Pistons over Magic 5 games

I nailed that one on the head... Welcome to the eastern conference finals 6 years in a row.

I'm an elitist.

something seems wrong.

The West is just so much stronger than the East this year. The East will only come out champions if the West beats itself up too much in the playoffs. The standings and teams in the East looked like crap all year (save for a few teams), while the West had many dominant teams. Even their "shitty" teams were better than some higher echelon East teams.

This is coming from a basketball fan, but not an NBA fan.

Boston had the best record in the league. They are in the east.

The east is definitely not as strong as the west. Golden State warriors would've been a 4th seed in the east, but didn't make the playoffs in the west. Baron Davis is one of my favorite point guards too. :(

Pistons or Boston is coming out of the east. With the way Boston has been playing in the playoffs, Pistons are going to the finals AGAIN! We beat the shit out of Orlando with a rookie point guard starting and our veteren quarterback in street clothes. Boston is beating themselves up over Cleveland and lets hope Cleveland takes this next one at home to even up the series for a game 7.

Now in the west. New Orleans is playing terrific basketball. Chris Paul is amazing. San Antonio might just get put out this year by them. Kobe and the Lakers are playing great too. Utah Jazz are an explosive team but don't have what it takes to beat the lizakerz.

Kobe is hurt too. His back is hurt.

I'm a basketball nut i guess. Some little kids tore down the rim in my HOA so I haven't played in a good month.

Just because they had the best record by no means makes them the best team (playing "worse" teams would provide a terrific record). However, I think Boston is really good. I really hope the Cavs can beat the Celtics because I am a University of Missouri fan and my hatred for Jayhawks carries over into the NBA. Detroit wins too much, so I would rather them not go back to the finals.

For the west, I think New Orleans is doing surprising well, even with Paul playing as good as he did during the season. I hate the Lakers, so I hope they fail, and I would much rather see New Orleans beat the Spurs since the Spurs always do well.

I will sometimes watch the playoffs since the players actually try to win those games, but the NBA loses a lot of luster for me since it is mostly five 1 on 1 matchups, and players use athleticism and not technique. Also, with the same teams going back to the finals, or at least deep in the playoffs every year, it is starting to seem like Major League Baseball.

How do salary caps work in the NBA (if applicable)?

If you're over the salary cap you pay luxury tax to the league. I don't know what the cap is off the top of my head. Like 78 million or something. Seeing as top players get 20 million a year theres quite a few teams over that cap. Look at the Knicks loaded roster. Denver is another one of those luxury tax teams. Some owners are tight wads and others just want to win. 42 home games x 15,000+ fans@60-200$USD+6dollar hotdogs and 10 dollar beer=$$$

I agree best record doesn't mean best team. Look at Dallas last 2 years. Poor Avery Johnson.

I think there should be less regular season games. Too many injuries, too many games means players don't care and only focus on the post season. Home court is awesome and all but still 82 per team is a lot.

In my opinion Ray Allen scores 30, KG has 25+ and 14+ rebounds and paul peirce puts in 22ish in Game 6 and the Cavs go home till next year. I really like how Rondo has stepped up this season. He has a lot of poise for a kid that age. And Rodney Stuckey is my new rookie MVP.

I've got a boner for basketball. Played in a few Gus Macker and various other tournaments and i played all throughout middle and highschool. Tis a shame i'm not african american and a little bit taller. I need negroplasty.

Yeah, I always played the 1 or the 2 in middle/high school. I am 5'9" and pretty scrawny comparatively (to most basketball players). I was always the kid who hustled and played hard, but sucked doing so. Negroplasty would definitely make playing easier since I have all the fundamentals down, I just need the hops and the height.
