Name change request

I was pretty sure that the 'We don't do name changes on request' thing was in reference to petitions. So like, that means don't petition it. I don't see anything wrong with posting a request in the forums, especially if there is a good reason for the change (such as: you know that your name violates policy and you are turning yourself in), or something like that.

But of course, I have absolutely no authority here, and similarly no knowledge of gm rules/policys/regulations/charters/mandates/and/or/guidelines (especially in regards to wiz), and am basically just talking to talk and throw in my two cents.

Well, I'm aware of at least 5 names that mean something in slovenian. Should I petition? :p

I think it's kinda stupid to change one's name if he doesn't know it has a meaning in a language, which he probably first hears about. But names like names of spanish fortresses or muslim gods should be changed imo. (yes, we have at least 2 such people on).

Sorry for semi-off-topic. Came to my mind, because a friend had his name changed yesterday, even though it seemed to me that it was completely normal name.
 
I saw a couple of names that means something in Italian, probably unintentionaly.
I did not bother pointing it out to a Gm because I figure they are busy as it is. With all the languages there are in the world, chances are there will be a lot of names that mean something, but the players will be innocent.
 
And some names are used in other common RPGs , while mine was changed cause it was a common word in english > :finger: to injustice.
 
Sorry, I know Islam is monotheistic :) It's just that I'm not particulary good in English, so I wrote it all down in plural :p
