I hope this isnt a "stupid post" but here it goes.

I am unaware of any other meaning of my name, Zergerate. But apparently other people are offended by it/have problems with it. I have been using this name since SoD was WR.
If anyone has problems, I would not mind changing my name if the GM's deem it so. I am sorry to all those offended or what have you.

Zergerate

It's what a previous raiding guild, Venerate, called itself jokingly. It'd be akin to calling yourself PhoenixSucking or Jerksaken or something. So yeah it's kind of inapparopriate.

The character Zergerate is over a year older than Venerate. But yeah, it still applies.

I remember Zergerate from a longgg time ago in my starting days. Good to see you're playing again. :)

Hehe, good to see you again too. I was unaware of Venerate ever being on SoD until a day ago actually. But if the GM's want to change my name. So be it. As long as I can play SoD :)

It could be left as is since Venerate isn't here anymore...After all Zerg has been on a lot of time before this joke. And it makes people laugh about this period :)

The zergerate joke even wasn't funny to me, even though I was in Venerate (still miss you! <3).

But I got a bit scared when you said "hi, guess who this is!" in PR guild chat.. I thought it was kind of a joke and that someone might want to reform Venerate again :D

I vote leave your name.

or so you think...

If Zerg was around before Venerate, then imo it clearly makes sense to rename the guild, not the toon.

And since Venerate is not named Zergerate you are indeed wrong.

duh, someone dropped on their head as a baby?

It doesn't matter if the players are bothered by it, it's whether or not we deem it inappropriate.

Duh, you?

called itself jokingly

Note that it wasn't the official guild name, so why/how the hell would it be changed? Are you going to make everyone in Venerate stop referring to themselves as Zergerate as a joke? You're retarded.

Phlit-bashing aside, this kind of blew my mind. Does Zergerate have some kind of history I'm not aware of?

Wow, more dumbness.
I figure if irony isn't self-obvious, the  should give it away. I guess not.
In the words of Trey and Matt: Dumb dumb dumb.
So: Duh, you.

(not sure if I understand your question, so I apologize if my answer is off-topic)

Well, "to zerg" is a slang term that refers to throwing all your forces at your ennemy until it drops, with little planning/skill involved. It comes from the Zerg race in StarCraft, who had loads of weak but very cheap units, so they were prone to win using their sheer numbers against their ennemies. So, if Venerate had a reputation of zerging (weither or not it was justified), they could be nicknamed "Zergerate".

Aka if u look at russian tactics side in the wars their strenght lies in the huge military and not in the skill.
