Music in game

I was looking around in my game directory today and found a handful of songs that had names that were similar to zones. Some of them are nice little tunes, but I've noticed that I've never heard them in game. Is there something I'm supposed to do to hear these songs while I'm playing or are they disabled or what?

Alt O, options, music, should be there.

Yeah I did that, but the only thing that seems to do is make music play when I'm in combat and stuff. Is there supposed to be background music in some zones that I'm just not hearing?
