Murk Spell: Form of the River Keeper

I think, Shm murk spell(self buff) is supposed to last for about 4 hours. (with di focus and AAs)

But it's illusion based, so I need to recast it every 30~40 minutes (due to refreshing )

This is not a serious issue, but I'm lazy, it's pain to memory it again, wait til activated and cast it

whenever refresh.

So It would be awesome if make a permanent illusion of it or remove a bear illusion effect from

the spell.

I like the bear illusion part, and if it were perma you could SB it to your pet for the proc(a bit op), and refreshing every 45 minutes? I can generally go 1.5-2 hours before refreshing. Also, you can mem it > refresh > cast it.

Doesn't work unless something has changed. Thought of that the second I got it.

Would be seriously OP if you could SB stick it to pet, I tried it too ;p

Yeah, it's a pain having to recast it everytime ya zone/refresh. But it's a small price to pay for being an awesome shaman. The real bear of it (haw) is the size, River Keeper is enormous =\

Once upon a time, Tink suggested a passive tome that would let us make SB Illusions not poof (on zone/refresh) but it was buried in another thread. And since it was once upon a time, I will not find it. But it is a pretty simple idea and it would make the extended duration on this illusion more sense-making.

I just got this spell- and I love it! I find myself meleeing on my shaman quite a bit with divine rage III and a Confine since he practically never runs oom, so throwing in some extra HP, WIS, recovery, and, oh yea- unresistable maul procs for over 600, is sweet. Definitely one of the best Grupluk spell quest rewards.

The only drawback is the upkeep mentioned in this thread. Everytime I zone or refresh it's, sit down, mem shrink, Form of the River Keeper. wait several seconds for River Keeper to cooldown, cast it, cast shrink on self, sit down, remem old spellbar. If I feel like not looking like a bear so I can tell when I'm sitting down I have to throw in a Must Equip: chainmail illusion to click off on top of that.

Woldaff mentioned in another thread concerning mages that he might look into fixing mage AA illusions persisting through zoning/refresh. This would be fantastic for River Keeper, but like the mage elemental form has one glaring problem when it comes to necking/gating into cities, especially as a pet class.

Bears, like elementals, but not werefrogs, are for some reason threat priority number one to city guards. If this could get changed, I think both mages and shamans could be made much happier with zone persistent illusions. Also, the level 29 shaman newbie who just learned Form of the Bear will no longer die instantly upon memming and casting his new spell. (this was me. it might have been you, too)

I think the change to allow persistent illusions across zone-lines/refresh would be beneficial enough to make up for the learning curve that would accompany it. Much like you learned from casting your Form at level 29 and getting piled by the guards, I think players would learn to click their illusions before moving into guarded zones. This is already a necessary consideration when dealing with roaming guards or comparable NPCs in xp zones. And really, who HASN'T been chased across the badlands once or twice - nbd!

I never get attacked in bear form in athica :/,

and really it is not that hard to cast this spell everytime you refresh, you know you are going to refresh so scribe the spell beforehand and therefore you don't have to wait for it to pop. For how awesome this spell is, it's really not that big of a deal.

My main concern is forgetting to click it off just a single time, necking to Sadri and having my pet kill the green con guardsman who patrols where you neck in while I'm alt tabbed or AFK somewhere. I don't mind the death to guards thing so much as painful, sometimes irreversible faction hits.
