multiple problems

I just registered, and installed and set up everything correctly i think. i logged in but when i got to the character creation screen i started seeing several problems, 1.it takes several clicks to get any buttons to work or even respond, and 2nd during that section and after i entered the game with that character i made the graphics were flickering around, rotating uncontrollably, and it was unplayable so i had to exit manually.

Any help would be appreciated

let me guess your running EQ on a computer with a multi-core processor? if that is the case you will need to set EQ to run on only 1 core
allowing it to run freely has been known to cause graphical problems and random warpspeed / Slowmotion.

here's how to set your processor affinity;
1. Run SoD patcher
2. open the task manager (CTRL - ALT - DELETE being the easiest)
3. open the process tab (second tab from the left)
NOTE: if your not running VISTA, skip this step;
4. Click the button at the bottom saying something like show processes for all users (i dont run the english version so i dont know the exact words)
5. find the "sodbin.exe" process (i think thats what its called)
6. right click and select "set Affinity" (again, i dont know the exact words they used)
7. now leave only 1 core selected and click ok
8. press patch on the SoD Patcher
9. Play and Enjoy

NOTE: i wrote this by heart so im not sure its 100% accurate, but im sure somebody else will be more than willing to fill in/change what is missing.

if your not running multiple cores, then i have no idea what could be wrong. sorry...

well i'd try that stuff if i could but, don't ask me how, whenever I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete it says "task manager has been disabled by your administrator". I've been wondering for a while now how to fix that little problem but can't figure it out.

Means you dont have admin privileges on your computer. Not a whole lot we can do to help you with that. You'll have to either be set as an admin or run through the admin account.

You just need to go into the Admin user profile and edit the profile you normally use in Control Panel > User Profiles to be an administrator. This is all assuming you are on a computer that you own.

is the computer yours? or do you share it with somebody else in your family?
are you the admin of the computer?

if your not, you will have to find out who is and talk to them about this..

my OS is XP

yes this computer is mine, and the i'm the only user so i have admin accass but heres what i tried:

this is what the instructions to fix this problem with my task manager were on the windows tech support website

1. Log off from the computer.
2. Log on to the computer by using a user account that has administrative permissions.
3. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
4. In the left pane, click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
5. In the right pane, double-click DisableTaskMgr.
6. In the Value data box, type 0, and then click OK.
7. On the File menu, click Exit.
8. Restart the computer.

the only problem is for step 4 i went to that file registry and theres nothing there that even mentions something about the task manager so I have no idea how to fix this problem >.>

sorry for the double post but i was just thinking and could someone tell me, a bit more in-depth way to fix this dualcore thing since my task manager doesn't work right now?

>.> again a problem, i don't have a windows cd for my computer.

you know what i'm just gonna wait and get someone to check out my computer sometime and see if they can fix my task manager for me then i'll worry about all this
