Mouse cursor is stuck at character select screen..

It seems this is the only problem I'm having now.
I think it might be due to EQWindows.. I double clicked the EQWFix.exe and tried to use the EQWindows program itself but it always gave me the 1017 error. Now whenever I log on normally my mouse corsor is stuck in the top left side of the screen and it won't react to the movements of my mouse until I control-alt-delete out. I've read that alt-r is supposed to fix this problem but it doesn't work for me. Whenever I ctrl-alt-del out the screen shrinks to a window and I have to alt-enter to get the screen back to normal. The game still works but it is a little annoying.
If anyone knows of a fix to this problem please let me know, thank you.

i get this now and then and i use Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up task manager. It takes me to desktop but doesnt shut down EQ. I then close taskmanager and click back on EQ. It brings me back and the mouse works again.

takes 20 seconds to do

yeah its annoying but i havent found another fix yet

Why do you use EQW anyway?

The normal EQ windowed mode works fine. DCing is easily possible on a 1.2Ghz / 512 MB / GF 4, so why go through the hassle of using EQW?

Solution: Hit Shift+Alt+R

I'm pretty sure that will work. What this does is changes (when you're in windowed mode) between the cursor in EQ and your regulard desktop cursor. What's happening is that even though you're in EQ, your desktop cursor is still working. When you're wiggling your mouse your technically moving it, but you can't see it because it's moving the wrong one  . Just hit those three buttons to switch back. Hope this works!

I dual cliented the last two years that I played Everquest. I also would regularly run three characters at once; two on one computer and one on the other, when I had my other computer.

The easiest way BY FAR to do this is with EQW. There is a delay when switching between windows using the standard Everquest window mode. I found it to be FAR less efficient to use built in windowed mode than it is to use EQW. Granted, EQW does lock up for a few seconds occasionally for no apparent reason, but there is almost always NO delay switching between characters.

That is the reason why many use EQW. I gave built in window another shot when I came to WR, but it still loses to EQW.
