Motg ruby and necros

As far as I know I'm the only necro with an motg ruby, which means I am alone in the request, but here is some Log data of a test I did where I cast Relic: Marlows Cremation on a plague worshiper first without my MOTG ruby equipped and then with my MOTG ruby equipped:

The first hit for a base damage of 556, with no ruby equipped, the second hit for a base damage of 556, with the ruby equipped, meaning that the fire focus on the ruby does not work for necros and needs to be fixed.

i dont think we have tested it yet but im almost positive the ear from fire boss lower does not affect dots as well. paxx would be the one there
 
its strange though, Liam told me that raging ice affected the archaic, but with the ice change and the fact that i dont have the archaic i dont know about that either, maybe someone on the staff could test out which focus's are working with dots and which aren't and see if they can get a fix up
 
Yeah Globe of Lava focus effect: Flames of Eternity has no effect on fire dots.
*Note - Not tested since focus changes went into effect yesterday.

Tested and found to be not working.
 
try a fire nuke with and without ruby. i've found that the focii work only on DD spells, not dots =/. can this please be fixed?
For example, the necro thurg ring with the poison focus affects the one time DD when you cast Caress of Sivyana, but not the DoT portion.
 
Does di affect dots at all? If not thenn making the foci affect dots might just be impossible without adding damage increment into the equation, thus possibly really messing things up in terms of dps in relation to other classes.
 
No di does not affect dots as far as i have experienced, just direct damage spells. Affliction enhancement is the type of di for dots. Yet di and focus effects work for casters with their dd spells, shouldn't the focus effects work with dots also?
 
Just adding some more info to support the conclusions in this thread, Relentless Arcana, the +Magic focus does effect DD's, but does nothing for the Magic Based snare DoTs. It appears that the focii won't work on DoT's, excluding initial DD's but that still doesn't boost the actual DoT damage.
