MoP

I think it would be a good idea to re-instate the old MoP, Kinda.

A level check of some sort, level 30 or so goes to the old MoP.

Level 30+ goes to the awesome new MoP!

I also think the MoP after level 10 should cost money, starting at lets say, 1sp when you are level 10, and 10-50pp when 65 is reached, maybe more, maybe less, but something to make it worthwhile to consider using a player, instead MoP when a full group is involved. I could see even 10pp working for this as 60pp vs donating to a Wizard/Druid 50pp could work as both a cash sink when used, and to help lower level Druids and Wizards make a living.

I think scaling would be very important, and amounts above a couple pp should be avoided until at least 50+ to avoid putting an undue burden on the newer players of the game

As one last Suggestion, add a agro message to the people who are doing the killing in the new MoP (Might have already, but I haven't agro'd them yet) to explain to them why they are being DT'd DoT'd snared, thrown back to start etc

why should it make a difference what level you are? Isn't the main idea just to avoid wandering critters?
Can't any level do that equally well?
Maybe I'm confused, I haven't used the mop much lately, but all I've been doing is avoiding things when I'm in there.

Its the player not the level, and by giving people 30 levels to learn the game and what agro is etc, would help mitigate people's concern that the new MoP will do nothing but turn off new players, give them a chance to get there feet wet rather then just dropping an obstacle course on someone who is still learning how to play the game.

I was under the impression that MoP was toned down for players under 40 yesterday. I'm not under 40, so I don't know exactly what was done, but I thought it was something along these lines. Maybe I'm wrong?

Scary as it may seem, new MoP is very easy to navigate.

I agree with the idea of not discouraging newer players.

Low level players already get a huge advantage. Basically the number of times you can aggro a Akhevan decreases as you level up. A level 1 would basically have to aggro every single one on the way to Athica in order for them to die. I did this so that MOP would keep its scare factor for low levels while decreasing its death factor. Hopefully a newbie will feel real accomplishment and relief after going through it the first time utilizing the level advantage while getting better at it for later.

Awesome

That is awesome, and I didn't know that.

what about charging for MoP?

Hm, I dunno. I just took a level 1 Gnome Cleric through from Underhill to South Newport. I wandered off of the path, got a knockback, contagion, and attention. Made it to the South Newport portal and through with one hit point left (by a roundabout path), but died on the other side due to the contagion.

Not that I care all that much - I have a pocket druid, and don't play all that seriously. But, my experience might give you a sense of what a complete newbie would experience going through.

Don't wander that far off the path? You really have to go out of your way to run into the wisps...

This was inside the mansion. Didn't see any wisps at all, actually, not really sure what hit me.

I ran through a second time, and once I had a better idea of where I was going, was able to make it through with no problem. Gonna have to log my Druid on to cure the contagion, though, I guess.
