MoP QOL

I'm not sure if I'm the only one this happens to but here's the situation:
  1. The first keeper, which patrols around the pool, has an absurdly large detection range.
  2. It also seems to bug up on me and face rape me (haven't touched anything else) if it detects me.
The combination of 1 and 2 has accounted for every single death I've had in the MoP. I now (sometimes) avoid it by only going when that keeper is completely on the other side. Even then the thing sometimes detects me.
The frustrating thing is that there doesn't seem to be any way I can reliably dodge it. Could that keeper simply be removed? Is this functioning as intended?

It does have a much larger detection range than the others. I've never had it kill me though; usually I'm lazy and just take the hit instead of waiting and get through the rest just fine. Do you get knocked into the wisps and they kill you or what?

Occasionally it knocks me into wisps, that one is relatively easy to avoid by hopping in the water (since the walls catch you). I also got in the habit of just taking the hit, but lately its been aggroing me when I do that. Past three times its detected me it straight out attacked.

I also nearly always get hit by this keeper, and it seems potentially buggy. (I often dont even see the mob, or am far away, but still get the knockback and charge 90% of the time, every other keeper that hits me I always see and have to be close)

Has never been an issue or killed me though. You can hit 2 keepers, so I usually hit this one, and on most paths, there is only 1 other keeper you potentially have to wait for to avoid, so I power through and hit that one as well, then I get to my zone.

Seems like to die in MOP you either have to have the terrible luck of one keeper knocking you into another, after hitting a first one, or you have to run into one of the ones that is avoidable by just hugging the same wall every time you run through (the two in that first building)

Haenir, you're known for having sticky fingers. I don't suppose these mobs might (by mistake?) be tied to Rogue/Bard heat, would they?

MoP hacks: You can jump over some of the keepers (or more accurately jump at / through them) and they won't notice you.

Cuz flying.

If it is attacking you prior to being noticed by other keepers, that is definitely a bug. Does this happen often? Do you know of anyone else who has this particular problem?

No. Although my sticky fingers found out that the Lottery Masters (at least the one in Newport) are tied to heat. And they see through Rogue hide/sneak.

It has happened to me 4 out of the last 8 times I traveled through MoP. The keeper patrolling by the Newport portal also behaved this way once (attacking prior to being noticed by other keepers). I usually manage to avoid all keepers, with the exception of that first one, so I'm wondering if the bug isn't tied to that keeper -- but rather there is a bias since it is more difficult to avoid.

Not sure if its relevant, but I don't think it ever happened to me before lvl 50.

I know at least one other person (Zeigfried) mentioned something similar happening, however I didn't inquire about the specific details.

I remember one time as a mage, my pet had a nice pet wep. I was in the MOP and I ran into 2 keepers. So, I exited MoP to re-enter, not trusting my luck. The first keeper than attacked me upon zoning back into MoP.

This is the only time I've had issues with being assaulted by the 'first' keeper. I took the wrong portal on accident, zoned back in (after taking two hits a few minutes before) and the pond keeper tore into me.

My biggest issue with the pond keeper, is that even i show he walking off down towards one of the sides, I always seem to get hit by him when I trot the opposite way (or try to go over the pond, etc.) Seems I always get clobbered by a knockback on him. Which often sends me into the field of wisps. :(

I recall thinking a long time back that the statue in the middle seemed to hit me, but yeah, I always take a hit from the first guy, I usually just charge it at this point.

I think there is a wisp that hides right in that statue now or something. Because i have taken that hit also, and it usually strips a buff too.

This sounds like the bug that could cause someone to be attacked on entry. I know there is an issue where if you leave a zone and then quickly re-enter mobs seem to magically remember you. (Not sure if this is every zone and not sure if this is a bug or intended? Maybe something put in the game deliberately to stop people from an easy way to get rid of roamer aggro?). Anyways, if that happened in the MoP it could be pretty annoying if the keepers remembered you.

Haven't been in the MoP since early this morning --- I did get tagged by the first keeper w/o it aggroing on 4 trips during that session. *shrug*

This is happening to me too.

There are also too many of these guys in the mop. Since getting a port (not porting yourself) is near impossible, maybe the mop could be toned down quite a bit. It still adds plenty of travel time without the risk of being killed and losing your fifteen minutes of buffing.

I've been attacked with melee damage a number of times in MoP. I am not sure what causes it but the last time it happened I was able to fight for a while. I am actually looking forward to the next time so I can see how I do.
