I'm kinda new to monks. The highest I've gotten one was on this server to lvl 18. So basically, I was bored and decided to read up on them and make sure I wasn't missing anything. I found some stuff about eqlive monks and wasn't sure if it applied here, so now I'm asking.

Anyway...

1. Monks are one of the few classes that can actually bandage up to 75% of their health.

2. Whilst being restricted to leather-type armors, Monks get a natural AC boost to compensate.

3. They also get an internal haste boost which increases with their levels.

4. Monks also get instill doubt which allows them to fear mobs.

5. Iksar monks can also use their tail as a weapon.

6.Humans level significantly faster than Iksar monks, and have slightly more base hitpoints. They can also do slightly more dmg than iksars at their full power.

7. Iksar gets built in AC boost, which stacks with monk AC boost.
- Also get an increased HP regen.

On live, this was true at 51. On WR, everyone can bandage to 70% from level 1.

Not true on WR. They get an avoidance bonus instead, so more hits will miss you.

3. They also get an internal haste boost which increases with their levels.

Wrong, but they get triple attack with their main hand at the same time they get double attack.

4. Monks also get instill doubt which allows them to fear mobs.

Instill doubt also has other effects on here. It can make a mob insecure, defensive, angry, and numerous other things.

5. Iksar monks can also use their tail as a weapon.

This is just a special attack (like Kick) identic to Dragon Punch.

6.Humans level significantly faster than Iksar monks, and have slightly more base hitpoints. They can also do slightly more dmg than iksars at their full power.

The base hitpoints deal is based off STA. They do more damage with their fists (which are a respectable weapon on WR, Human Fists are 12/20 at level 60 for example) but not with weapons. Humans do level faster.

7. Iksar gets built in AC boost, which stacks with monk AC boost.
- Also get an increased HP regen.

Wrong, but they get triple attack with their main hand at the same time they get double attack.

Heh, this is one of the oldest myths in EQ ... "monk natural haste". Took the monk community a long time to get rid of and castersrealm is still spreading this rumor *shakes head*
 
Fists

I don't know about here, but on EQ Live Monks got triple attack for main hand at level 60. Doesn't go off much though, so not incredibly great. Maybe you might have changed it for WR though.
 
when monks double attack, they get a chance for a triple attack automatically. goes off often enough here. (lvl 1, i believe, instead of 60)

Thanks a lot, Wiz. It's a good thing that monk fists are a good alternative to weapons (like they should). And it's good that those values also reflect the Iksar advantages over Humans.

Why Iksar

I don't get it.... why do Iksar do let damage with their fists??? don't they already get punished by getting exp slower than humans??

well iksar level slower and out fists are slower then humans, this is also irrelevent when you equip a weapon, its just bare handed stats that we swing slower then a human monk.

our pros are:
infravision (humans blind)
natural ac bonus (our scales are tougher then skin)
regeneration attribute (i think i regen 12 or 13 hitpoints per tick standing and like 30 ish sitting or so)
100 swimming (since you cant really increase swimmng on wr, this is a big +)

id much rather have all these pros and the few cons. the only thing i think would be crappy if trolls and iksar get aaxp slower then everyone else. i would like humans to get aa faster then all other races tho

oh, one extra thing for wiz, would it be possible to put in a human monk only passive style that allows them to regenerate like a lizzy monk. and a lizzy monk skill that gives us a THUNDERKICK (dont kill me ^_^)

As the head of the Head of the ETIR (Equal Treatment for the Iksar Race) I will except these explanations but I still advocate for the fair treatment of the Iksar Race. Just because they are different from us and have dry skin doesn't mean they should be thought of as a lesser race. We here at the ETIR will stand up for these reptilians when no one else will. Beware our membership.... I mean our member rather is growing strong and soon we'll be up to two members a which point I will begin to raise other such discrimination issues.

Exp penalties apply across the board, for normal exp and AAexp alike
