monk riposte stance (bug?)

Hey i've noticed I can't proc Tower of Deathly Cold in riposte stance. I feel like I've procced 2h in riposte stance before, so I was hoping someone could investigate or confirm!

edit: I can proc buffs like rbow and froggy idol, but shoes and sticks are reluctant.

This is intended. Monks using the stance and some of the more powerful boot procs were pulling full zones, kicking names and taking ass. Procs haven't worked from boots, in riposte stance, for more than a year now.

As for the 2h weapon...

(12) Dance of Death 50 You gain an increased chance to riposte while losing avoidance (Only works with Two-Handed Weapons with a max delay of 40)

I'm wondering if the code is simply using a < 40 rather than a <= 40. Not sure the intention of that one, so don't know if thats a bug or not.

I think if that were the case, he'd simply be unable to enter the stance with the Tower equipped, since I believe that is what happens when you try using a twohander with delay > 40.

I also seem to remember that you can't proc weapons on ripostes, but if the staff isn't proccing at all while in that stance and attacking stuff then it definitely seems something is messed up.

Regarding boot procs... I have a hard time seeing that being an issue, honestly. The riposte stance gives you like 5% higher chance to riposte, you only kick on 50% of ripostes, and boots only proc on a small percentage of kicks. So even using the PoFrost boots with a ~1000-1500 damage proc, it would still only be increasing your DPS by a tiny percentage.

When I told woldaff that the boot proc on the plane of frost boots was too good for monks this was his solution. Boot procs during riposte stance made up a small percentage of total dps even with ToT boots, but I worried that plane of frost boots in particular were a problem (long before I had any). In any case given the proc rate of the frost boots I think they are actually less dps than the tot boots.

Ya, was just posting that as I don't know how widely known that is, and am pretty sure it isn't mentioned anywhere.

My question now becomes, can you get any other 2h weapon to proc in riposte stance? Not near the code base atm, so can't run my own tests, but this sort of thing speeds the process up.

If it helps justify it, just take solace in knowing that monks aren't badass enough to riposte with their feet, only hands.
 
Checked with a couple other 2h and had no procs from riposte stance with <40 delay.

I don't think there's any mathematical justification. I'm pretty sure woldaff took me at my word without testing. But for the record he said he would *lower* proc rate of boots in riposte stance.

This sucks because the low geared monks that didn't have all the gear TU had can't farm anymore. Thanks a lot manguadi.

Having 2-handers now proc in riposte stance sucks? I don't get this, you are going from not being able to proc in a good stance to being able to proc in a good stance, what about this sucks?

The only way this statement would make sense is if just now it were changed so that procs didn't work. Sadly they've been broken far longer than anyone cared to notice.
 
Just sad that my boots wont proc in that stance now. I know i could ae aggro like 60 mobs at a time but now pallies are stepping on our toes. I blame tu for this. To rebalance monks we should get ghots and decent fast heals and stuns.
