A couple days ago, I was waiting at the Freeport Docks for ~30 minutes for either of these two boats, and neither came.

My goal is to get to Newport.

According to this map, these boats run between Freeport/Newport; is this correct?

Was I too impatient? I've been out of the game for awhile; the last time I played, I just grabbed a Translocator :(

The boats are frequently broken. Your best bet is to ask in OOC before heading to a city that has access to them.

The boats seemed to work quite well for many months, has this changed due to the pathing issues being worked on?

After all it's not like boats are buses, there are storms, pirates and stuff...they even have the right to be on strike you know ! hence them being down sometimes.
 
I was running though sea of swords yesterday and actually saw one of these two boats completly stopped, stuck not moving in the middle of the zone.
 
The sailors must have been totally drunk and the captain decided to launch the anchor , otherwise they might have crushed into the giants island...
