Mindfire

Nodnal

Dalayan Elder
As discussed here http://forum.shardsofdalaya.com/showthread.php?t=23745&highlight=mindfire I think the recast on Mindfire should be reduced significantly. The clicky isn't even that great and a recast of over two hours is just too high. The buff only lasts for up to 3 ticks, so I don't think it would be dangerous to decrease the cooldown. Something between 15-30 minutes would be nice, but as it stands it is just a super long recast on a non-exciting buff.

Not every item needs to have their clicky be even 1/100 as useful as the healer mace from ToT. This item is still very good for the tier you get it even without the clicky. The rest is just added benefit, even if its not very useful in the long run.

instead of improving ToT weapons still further, perhaps something could be done about giving "flavor" to Tarhyl's augment. It is great, yes yes, but something a la Tarhansar's aug would make it pretty cool

I think one of the points about Mindfire that I don't like is that it is a hugely marginal effect for how long it lasts and the recast.

Even if you made the effect worse, kept the duration the same, and cut the recast to a short duration it would be awesome. Things that are not very effective on a massive recast just aren't fun. Things that you can use every fight are fun.

EDIT: The clicky is OK as you can get a couple spells off during it for the mana cost reduction, but once every 7500 seconds? Seems a bit...off, even when not compared to the other weapons from ToT.

That statement could not be more wrong.

The correct version is that by the time you get that weapon the ONLY useful thing is the clicky.

That isn't really true. The weapon is super good at the tier you can get it at. Tier what, 9? weapons are pretty much worse than Mindfire, but this thread isn't about the stats of the item.

Except the tier you get it isnt the same for everyone. It wouldnt surprise me if this quest is completed more often by guilds essentially done with tot than by those active t9 guilds still farmin tot.

Mindfire was pretty much the best thing you're getting in that primary slot pre-ikisith (provided you're not a necro).

The clicky is ehhh though, and it has always been pretty disheartening to see how powerful the healer clicky is in comparison, though not unexpected.

I also think the clicky on this should have a greatly reduced cooldown (10 min seems about right to me)

Obviously the game doesn't need tons of powerful clickies, however ToT weapons are probably the hardest to obtain item at the point most people get them. I probably logged in that tot tracker 200-300 times before I got my chest piece.

The clicky would not be that powerful even with a greatly reduced cooldown. It's probably not going to let you kill things you couldn't otherwise. What it does do is allow a proactive caster to potentially save their own life when a heal is late, and that is a really nice tool for an archtype that can often feel hopeless in terms of self preservation.

i think you guys should be thankful that your weapon has a clicky to begin with :p

Ragecaller, Searfist, Flamescar, and Stoneculler get replaced and never again used. At least with a clicky (even with a few hour cooldown) the item isnt banked or destroyed when an upgrade is aquired.

Honestly Mindfire is pretty good as is, but it should probably have the cooldown reduced.

The clicker from inventory is great. 2hour recast is a little extreme, but I still use it at least once per night on raids for the heal.

1 hour recast would be ideal.
