Could you possibly consider making +Mind Shield also make your character more resistant to spell stuns? I think this makes a great deal of sense and gives an undervalued item mod more viability.

Mind you that even now that Mind Shield works when it's supposed to I'd bet hardly anyone would notice if its function changed altogether...

I've been saved by Mind Shield plenty of times and its pretty good.

I'd imagine, but only if they had it up.

I dont think so, I think they only cast spells determined to be detrimental. Never saw anyone throw a buff while charmed or anything like that.
