Mez Mitigation

I believe a change really needs to be made to how the highest level mobs mitigate Mez spells.

Currently a level 65 creature breaks relic mez or complacency in six seconds, or one tick. That doesn't even leave enough time to tash it or space for a single resist if you want to keep it mez'd. Lower level mobs (60+) also mitigate it down to 30 seconds or whatever, and not knowing exactly how long a mez will last is a big pain especially if the mob is always just blue to you. Maimai can cast complacency in a row many times but it just seems like a nasty way of making mobs harder like 'hey lets make mobs automatically turn autoattack off for melees every 6 seconds!' or forcing a shaman to slow every tick, maybe once as a gimmick but this happens on every single white-con mob we mez and is very unpleasant with the new resist changes...

My proposed change is: when a mob would normally break mez (from mitigation) the remainder of the duration turns unpredictable like charm, making a resist check every tick. The enchanter would get a message like "Target begins to wake up." then every tick after that the creature would have a chance of breaking mez, it could of course be re-mez'd in this status to go back to normal.

This would make mezzing a little less unneccessarily painful and make me and other enchanters happy! I don't feel it would unbalance anything, it would infact allow for more high level mezzing to be used in content.

I see what your saying. I agree and disagree.

The thing is mez is suspose to be timed but unpridictable. I played a Enchanter on live and it allways seemed differnt when mobs would break. I just seemed to allways recast it before it wore off and it seemed to work.

Have you tried to use any lower mez spells that might not be resisted as much. If you have to cast your relic it probably uses way to much mana to be casting every 6 seconds.

Great, an enchanter from live telling me I didn't research this post!

Look up the lower spells yourself.

I thought that was a ligit question. Asking if his lower ones were resisted less.

I mean if he has a 25 second mez below his relic thats 30 secnods and it gets resisted 50% less wouldnt that be worth while?

Ya know. I diddnt mean offence to you for anything. I was asking a simple question. I figure you do know your spells and you know what to do. I just wanted to get clarity on it.

I appoligize if I offended you.

Since you have to plan for the worst case scenario anyway, your proposed solution wouldn't really fix your problem. Moreover, at least with level 65 mobs, there are few enough of them that Wiz and co are certainly aware of how hard they'll be to mez. If you think a specific encounter's adds are too much of a bitch to mez, then easier to just post about that encounter; it's unlikely you'll get an across-the-board change to level 65 mez.

When you charm a dweller in everchill you don't plan for it to break on the first tick, or you'd never charm.

There has been a few times when i've wanted to mez something over level 63 or whatever, the most recent encounter that made me realise just how much of a pain it is was a pull of 6 white con mobs in sepulcher of darkness.

I know the argument for it is "let's give enchanters lots of attention needing repetative things so people stop botting them", but that can only go so far before it annoys the mained encs.

The minimum duration is always 2 ticks, which unfortunately translates from anything from 6 to 12 seconds.
