memory error please help!

I was playing fine yesterday. Today I try to log in and I get a memory error that says:
the instruction at 0x778028df referenced memory at 0x00000004. the memory could not be read. click ok to terminate the program. I have downloaded a fresh patcher and used repatch all any ideas?
 
any changes to your AV program you use? or Security Software or Firewall software you use, try disabling or undo'ing them for starters.

Sorry I know it seems simple, but you have to start somewhere.

when does the error come up? how far into the login and loading process do you get?
after sodpatcher? etc
 
The only time I get memory errors is when I am playing on an old PC with sort of cruddy video cards and very little ram. Even then, I only get the error when I crash.

What sort of system are you using and what OS?

FYI, I know the 0x00000004 reports when you have a hardware failure if you BSOD...
 
did you install the resent security update via windows upgrade? Because several people have had similar problems while running older software on newer platforms.
 
Sometime after xp sp3 update, some of the updates trash my old computers. Make sure you have system restore running so you have a point to restore to. The latest to ruin my computer was an update for office.

Also, running at resolution of 1366x768 does not work on my other laptop and gives me a memory error crash. So try changing your desktop resolution.
