Melee DPS Class?

Fortesque

Dalayan Beginner
Just wondering, I'm planning on rolling an untwinked melee DPS class. Don't care much for utility or anything, just looking at what class offers generally the best melee dps. Solo ability isn't an issue, as I want it to be a heavily grouped toon. Right now I'm guessing Rogue or Monk but the line is blurring as to which I should choose and which roles they fulfill.

So, anyone got some insight? What brings more in a dps capacity to a group: Rogue or Monk? Generally what's easier/harder to play?

Any and all help is appreciated for this n00b :)

Rogues are the best melee dps. Monks are better tanks and can pull.

If you're looking for just plain the most dps, then you want to be a rogue. We have pretty much no utility outside of that, whereas monks have plenty. Pulling and tanking is nice.

If you pick a monk you will be expected to pull(ugh utility!) so go with rogue as we have no utility(lock picking doesn't really count) just dps.

As a rogue all you have to do is press backstab hotkey and evade occasionally and press a hotkey to change stances depending on the situation(not too often though 95% of the time you can get by with just aggressive stance.)

Rogues are going to be the highest DPS. But I would not leave out Ranger from your list. They have some nice DPS too.
