Play less. Seriously. There are very few things in life you can do in large amounts without burning out.

And when you do play, vary your gameplay. I.e. level, quest, explore, tradeskill...

But first and foremost, just don't play when you don't feel like it.

There's your answer right there. I am forced to play less now that I'm finishing up school and looking into internships. Because of this, I really appreciate every minute I'm playing SoD, instead of feeling bored or uninterested.

Allways a good thing.
Also, like you said, you played soandso many classes, races, games, etc. That sounds like you may have no goal. I know, it depends on player and if it fits your playstyle but, my goal was allways: play one game, one class, one toon and take it as high as possible. You may want to try that or not, however you feel like ;)

I notice people getting burned out of this game sometimes because it can be easy to level, so they will try to get to level 65 in like three weeks. Then I don't see them much after that.

burned out

Hello,

That is one of the things I like about SOD, I can take a break and not worry about having to pay a fee ( well other than donation ). My characters can safely rest, and I can come back in a couple months and typically all my friends are still around ).

Thanks

i played EQ live since beta. i stopped after about 2 yrs or playing. i was burnt out. i picked it back up again, played for another 3-6 months...stopped. and then played Emulated back when S2k was NEW. lol. well, i havent played much MMORPGs or online games besides SoD and Call of Duty. i have notcied that after work, g/f time, sleep, and anything else that wrenches me away from my computer...i have little problems being interrested in SoD. the biggest thing is that if you sit there 4-7 hrs a day, every day, every week...it will last about 3 weeks to a month...then BAM! burnt out. put some away time in there, find a new game, do house work...SEE the sun. i know...after days being on SoD or any other time consuming game the sun may blister your pale skin, but i promise...its a good thing. meet a girl if you have to, just remind her that its your PC...NOT hers...dayumed women. sorry...anyways, point is, play SoD and have fun, but spend twice as much time AWAY from SoD. this way it gives you a sense of desire when you log back in.

I don't really have the problem. I just try to balance things out. Everyone is different though. I will start out reading and doing schoolwork and when I get the main priorities done I play and log out if I dont really have a true objective (ie finish a quest, raid, or get some new AA). There is just about always something cool to do in SoD though. I mean really.. you have exploring, tradeskills, interaction, challenging content, neat abilities to train and work up to. In fact, SoD has an interactive storyline that prolly 80 to 90 percent of players dont even know about (because they never read any of the dialogue while exploring and doing quests) and its progressive to boot. Maybe you need to approach this differently. Explore what there is to explore and maybe work your way into a raiding guild so you can experience new challenges and content.

Play games like fps were your personal skill is what makes you top or not. Takes longer to become a god and you can get your fill for games in a lot shortter time then on an rpg. Gives you a brake from the rpg games and keeps you interested
