Was wondering if this is at all possible to do. To creat a market district that is some what linked between towns. all towns would lead to the same districts, but when elaving you would return to your respective towns.
Say some where in South Newport put in a Market district hoste who you could hail and he would give you differnt choices like the /cmd listview system
D1 Smithing
D2 Tailoring
D3 Jewelcrafting
D4 Cooking
D6 Alchemy
D7 Brewing
D8 General Supply (for trade skill and other miscilanious non equipable goods) / no trade skill needed for here
D9 Huntsman (NPC droped armos and wepons) \ also only small Stands avilable
9 Differnt Versions of the same districts. possibly differnt districts for D8 and D9
in each district you coudl also go to another district from a the market district host or back to the town you zoned in from
once sellecting these you would be ported to a POK area like the player houses but of a few buildings and several side stands wich can be Purchased via Plat or some sort of Registration.
Vendor stands would require differnt skill levels to set up depending on the stand
Possibly Combind.... Smithing Document with Stand Deed1,2,3,4 (price between 100pp and 5kpp) (smithing skill required # to combind ) yields a document you turn in to get your stand
Small stands - 50+ skill (of that area of the district based to use 1 street vendor
Big stand - 150+ 2 street vendors
Building - 250+ small building with 3 vendors 1 storage unit
Corp building - 3 Trade skillers all 250+A large building with 6 vendors 3 storage units
Corp buildings would cost 5k to Set up, would also give you the ability to do a chat band to communicate with each other and also be able to invite people to the chat that are suppliers ect...
The bank would still cover mail but the /listsold stuff would be moved to the Trade districts. yeah its a lot of work and the method we have now works just fun. I personaly feel that having a Trade district would be fun and exciting for both new and old players.
I think having the corp buildings would improve productivity amongst trade skills as well as offer a new fun and exciting in game past time.
So from any city you could port into a trade district, to give it the hustle and bussle feel of a real trade district , and when exiting it would take you back to the town you came from.
Remove Grouping to prevent people from meeting up for ports ect..
not sure how venders used to work back in the day when you could put them in town but Id guess something simolar to...
Your personal venders that you get with your stands or shops you could hail...
Players name's Vender says Hello master %t what is it I could do for you today
D1 Check invantory (List items on vendor)
D2 Recive sales (Get money from vender from sold goods)
D3 Supply vendor (where you would give him items to sell for you) Would not accept non District trade items
D4 Dismiss vendor smith district won't except Imp hide or NPC droped items ect...
D5 List Customers possibly a list of the names of people who purchesed your products.
Example..
I'm looking to get a full new set of armor for a new friend starting SoD.
I've got a lot of money to spend and would atleast like to have fun while spending it. I stroll over to the bank in South Newport Take out 2k and head to the Market district host. Start off with the Smithing District. stop by a few street vendors maybe get an idea of some pricing. Head to the Corp building , say I find that they are to exspensive, though they have just about every thing I could want , and I feel like helping out a little guy starting off. He will probably have the best deal if he's skilling up on it. I go back out side to the street find the vendor who had a nice BP LEGs and a helm. decide thats a good start.
I then head over to the Tailoring district. Shop around for some Bags
head to JC district, pick up a Ring and earing for a screaming deal from the Corp building where they just got a huge supply in of Fire opals from a hot camp spot by one of their suppliers.
take off for the Alchemy District, fight off some beggers along the way maybe make fun of some /random gamblers feeding off greed in the districts where people have money on them.
(possibility to give rogues the ability to Pick pocket , but at no loss to the person being PP'ed) the only one taking the risk here is the Pick pocker who could get cought by guards or players and ridiculed/killed by guards.
Last but not least I head back over to my own vender in the General supply district, and find that some one bought all my Trade skill supplies off my Vendor (say I farm a lot in SG) those traders know wich vender usualy has some good deals on Tangleweed and start to check mine first when they go shoping. any how I sold 2 stacks of Tangleweed and make a lot of money in wich I head right back over to another District to spend the money I just made
This Market district I think would be a nice stimulation to the market as well as being fun to purches as well as sell goods
Maybe you could also get an aditional bonus in exp for participationg in owning a vendor stand per day its operational or something along those lines . (I feel that a based on transaction would cause an exploit)
