Making SCS Viable for SHD's - Suggestion

Spell Casting Subtlety has always been a silly shadowknight AA, because it reduces one of their class abilities instead of increases it, no SK will buy it.


I realise there's no way to replace it and all the issues with shared AA's etc but I have a suggestion to make it viable:

If there was added extra code to the terror line to boost its agro by 20% if a SK posessed subtlety, and it reduced the agro of their other spells by 20% as with other classes it would add some nice utility, as it would allow more DD spells on raids and some tapping without stealing agro unintentionally.


I think this would also fit in with what wiz posted about Shadowknights here:

Shadowknights derive their powers from Marlow, whose strength lies in manipulation, trickery and careful progress (so they manipulate aggro, fear, mez and tank better)

Subtlety may help them boost their manipulation powers, increasing it (in the form of the terror line) to balance the decrese in nukes and taps.
 
If I was an SK, I would take the 20% boost to my aggro abilities and just laugh at the warriors and paladins. The trade off between that 20% aggro and more DPS on nukes wouldnt sway many a SK.

It might be silly, but you can't change what an AA does for one class without affecting how it works for all classes that use the AA with the same name.

I think what she was saying is change the AA for ALL classes to give 20% bonus to the terror line of spells....

being only SKs have that line of spells... it would be moot for everyone else.

Maimai was proposing changing the spells to check for subtlety, but this sounds like a really elegant version of his original suggestion.
 
Of course you can Kas...

if (spell casting subtlety = true) and (spellid = x or y or z) then agro *= 1.20
(obviously something more efficient than this in reality :p )

Our agro doesn't come from just the Terror line, it just happens to be the most efficient line available. Unless the 20% agro improvment was added to the shroud and torrent lines (as well as wave of enfeeblement since its our only form of AE agro) I don't know how thrilled I would be about this change. It's an awesome idea though, one of the best ones I've seen.
 
20% is pretty extreme given the current high aggro generation that SKs have, but I could see this working out with a significantly lower percentage.
