Making fletching useful

Correct me if I'm wrong, but at the moment I see no real point to fletching. With the exception of making a single arrow for EQ, I've yet to actually find a good use for it. The bows that are made are laughable, and theres no point in fletching arrows (lower than 3 dmg are useless with EQ, and those that dont work with EQ - or people that dont have it - are too expensive to just shoot away randomly). Since other tradeskills (not sure about all, but definately some) have some sort of money-making products (that is, after all, pretty much why people do them), I suggest having a fletched item or two that would be wanted by the general public. Nothing huge, maybe some sort of ranged item with a FT1 or a Regen1 effect (or clicky?) and minor stats if even. We could have the foraged oak staffs as a component in them so its not too simple to just go to a fletcher and make a ton. Perhaps even make a few items that extend on this to FT2/Regen2 with much harder to get components. Either way, I'm sure you could find something suitable. But yeah, I thought I'd throw this idea out there so us fletchers can have something to do :)

proc arrows or some stat bows i would think would be suitable.

anything thats just a 'ranged item' as you put it which isn't a bow or arrow would be kinda not fletching, if you see where im comin from. a splintering bow which right clicks summon arrows just sorta popped in my mind.

I would love to see the possibility for high end bows to be made. For no other reason than that i recently made a ranger and i've always like to do fletching on my rangers and use what they can make. Did that on live, was really fun and can turn a profit selling your products to other lazy people who would rather not spend the resources fletching.

It seems the only tradeskill to actually get a workout is tailoring and theres only so much wyvernhide/wyrmhide armor one can take :p

Items in the Ammo slot don't actually give stats D:

Does this also include the ammo slot haste item?

don't know what you are referring to, but yes... no ammo slot item gives any worn stats. If you are referring to a quiver which adds bow haste, then no... that even works w/ quiver in bag slot.
